CHAPTER 2: Red as an Apple

Apple White POV

"My dear Apple White, are you ready to follow your mother's footstep?"

I looked at Raven who's eyes red as blood. I was taken a back when she said those words. "Raven, we know we have our differences aside, but you know we don't have to do this. Just like you said, 'I'm going to write my own destiny'. You don't have you push yourself to it... unless you have a change of heart suddenly," I said as I stared at her.

She wickedly smiled at me, which made me uncomfortable. She suddenly summon an apple in her hand, and held it out for me.

'This isn't like her at all,' I thought to myself.

"Raven, are you okay? What made you changed your mind and heart? I thought you want to write your own happily ever after?" I bombarded her those questions, yet she stood there quietly with the apply on her hand.

"Apples are red,
Poison have hues.
Your happily ever after
will be assured,
once you take a bite into it."

She poetically said as she step towards to my direction. I step back, yet she also take a step forward.

"I thought you would have like this new settings or ours? This is a way to meet your prince charming, your knight and shining armor! Aren't you excited to meet him?" she laughed and the lights on the room started to flicker.

'This... This has to be a prank, right? Raven knows how sensitive I am towards to my own destiny.'.

"Take it and bite it now, Apple! I'm only following my mother's footstep, after all being evil rans to my blood and our connections are intertwined by our destinies!" her eyebrow furrows and when our gaps is five inches apart, she smiled once again.

She whispered under her breath, and my body suddenly went stiff. My hand grabbed the apple, 'Oh no! I'm under control by a spell!'.

Slowly, my arms is moving towards to my mouth. I want to scream out loud for help! My mouth opened and took a bite on the apple. I swallowed it, and my body is no longer tense.

I fell down on my knees, and start sobbing, because this is not how I imagined my destiny would go. Soon, my stomach started to hurt badly, and I felt really sick. Cold sweat covered my forehead, and my skin felt damp and cold.

I got dizzy, and everything around me started to spin. My vision became blurry, and dark spots appeared before my eyes. A sharp pain spread through my belly, getting worse with each second. My throat felt tight, making it hard to breathe.

My arms and legs felt heavy and numb. My heart was beating fast and unevenly, like it might jump out of my chest.

I tried to call for help, but my voice was weak and quiet. My body was failing me, and I felt scared and helpless.

I can hear Raven's laughed echoing on the room. I heard her heels cackling as she head towards to my direction. Even though my sight is blurry, I can see her lips grinning ear to ear.

She bent down on my level and whispered, "Happily ever after... for me, my sweet Apple.".

Apples are red,
Poison have hues.
I never thought I will die,
at the hand of my own best friend.

Apples are red,
my throat is burning as hell.
Why is my body numbing?
I fell down on my knees,
as I coughed in pain.
Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Is this the way for me
to meet my knight and shining armor?
My vision started blurring out.
My body fell down on the floor,
as the sight of Raven's feet,
forwarding to my direction.
Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
She whispered,
"Happily ever after...
for me, my sweet Apple.".
Her laughed echoed the room,
as my body getting numb.
