Tomorrow came and so did the responsibility of needing to deal with the consequences of his actions.

Kyle groaned at the rays of sunlight hitting his face. He had forgotten to close his curtains and was now blinded by the morning sun.

He got up and got dressed for the day. Shoving some papers into his backpack and ran downstairs into the kitchen, shyly smiling at his mother before throwing waffles into the toaster.

He waited for the waffles to pop and looked at his mom.

"Mom?"

Laura smiled. Oh, how she loved her son. Her heart always longed for more children but she never had the chance to have any more. That's the good thing, however, as she can give all her love and attention to her only child.

"Yes, sweetheart?"

"I'm sorry."

Laura's eyebrows furrowed together, "for what, honey?"

"For being a little monster. Literally. It's like when I'm.. that way.. I can't control myself. I find such peace in your love that I just let myself go, I suppose. I'm sorry you were stuck chasing after a five-foot-nine two-year-old."

Laura's lips quivered. Her heart hurt for her son.. her baby boy. He just needed some extra love. She couldn't be mad at him.

"Oh, honey," she cooed, "I forgive you, baby. And don't worry, it's no worse than when you were actually two. One time you ran straight into traffic!"

Kyle chuckled awkwardly, "Yeah I suppose that I have a better regard for my safety now?"

"That and I refused to hit you at that age. Ever since I started lightin' you up, you act like you have some sense now!"

"Mom!" Kyle shouted after he turned at the sound of the toaster popping, "You can't say that! It only works when I'm little, anyway."

Raising an eyebrow and laughing, Laura commented "Want to test that theory?"

Kyle grabbed his waffles and waved goodbye, rushing out of the front door. He ran a few houses down and scarfed down his food while waiting for the bus.

---------------------------
Kyle rolled his eyes at the sight of Turner sitting in his truck.

'At least he was privileged enough to be able to take his own vehicle to school,' Kyle scoffed.

He locked eyes with Turner who didn't look too happy. Did he see him rolling his eyes?

Turner opened his truck door and hopped out. Kyle's heart started skipping beats as Turner marched his way over to him.

Turner glanced at the crowd around them. Not wanting to embarrass Kyle by making a scene, he leaned down into Kyle's ear.

Turner was stern, "If I ever see you roll your eyes at me again I will bust your ass in front of the whole courtyard next time. Am I understood?"

The younger male went pale. He gulped and shook his head slightly, looking around and whispering "yes, sir," into the older male's ear.

Turner stood straight and smiled at the younger boy. He nodded, "Let's get to class."

As they arrived at the classroom, the boys parted ways and went to their assigned seats.

Kyle spent the whole period with a pout on his face. Turner spent the whole period with a smile on his face.

As the day went on, Kyle behaved himself. He even got rewarded with Turner buying him a cookie at lunch!

At the end of their day, Kyle felt a hand on his shoulder while exiting the building.

"Hey Kyle," Turner began, "I can give you a ride home?"

Kyle's expression dropped into a scowl.

"No, I will take the bus. Thanks."

Kyle stomped off in the other direction. Turner stood there- surprised by Kyle's decline.

What was wrong with Kyle? Was it Turner's place to poke around anyway?

Shrugging, Turner decided that he was to mind his own business. He fished his car keys from his jeans pocket and entered his vehicle. Turner took a deep breath and started the car, hearing the roaring of his truck engine.

Turner made his way home with plenty of anxious thoughts running through his head. As he put the truck into park in his driveway, his heart felt heavy.

Why was this getting to him?

Turner wished he could talk to Joey. It had been a few days since he last spoke to his older brother and he was eagerly awaiting that next phone call.

The male exited the car and shuffled his way inside his home. He made his way upstairs and into his bedroom. In the corner of his eye, he spotted Joey's jacket lying on his desk chair. Making his way over to the article of clothing, he picked it up and inhaled the scent deeply. It smelled strongly of Joey's favorite Axe cologne mixed with his normal body musk.

He missed Joey deeply.
