I glanced at my watch for the umpteenth time as I dashed down the street, heart racing and mind swirling. Today was not just any day; it was the day of a big meeting with one of our most important clients. You know, the kind that could make or break your career. But here I was, running late and in desperate need of caffeine to kickstart my brain.Just when I thought I could make it without any hiccups, fate had other plans.
Bam!
I collided with someone—hard. My coffee dreams were nearly dashed as I stumbled back, eyes wide in surprise. The person I bumped into? A striking blonde who seemed to have stepped straight out of a magazine. For a split second, everything else faded away.
"Sorry!" I blurted out, barely registering her dazzling smile before I turned on my heel and hurried off.
Little did I know that this unexpected encounter would change everything... but no time to think about that! I have an important meeting to get to and if I don't hurry, My entire career is over.
I finally make it to the studio, as the automatic doors glide open I dash for the elevator.
"Come on! Stupid fucking machine!" Pressing, or some would say slamming, the button over and over and over.
Finally!
I run into the elevator and push the 4th floor button, why are elevators so damn slow? I take the chance to gulp down half of my coffee, Im feeling more energetic already... and more willing to interact with humans.
Speaking of humans, I can't seem to get my mind off that one particular blonde that I ran into at the coffee shop- ding!
Thank goodness. Sprinting down the hallway I run to the meeting room, swinging the door open to find-
"Quinn?" I scan around the room at the empty chairs, "Dude, where are our clients?" Quinn slams her hands against the table. Uh oh, Angry Q.
"Santana, The one day I needed you to be on time and you couldn't do it!" Quinn moves around the table towards the doorway I'm standing in,
"Quinn I'm sorry! I promise it was an accident I woke up late and I had to get coffee and then I ran into this girl and knocked her ov-"
"Santana, are you kidding?! You woke up late and still stopped to get coffee? Fuck. This, This is why I can't trust you." She barges past me, knocking me backward slightly. I follow Quinn along to her studio, begging and pleading for her to forgive me on the way.
"You're lucky that The Keaton Project called and asked to reschedule this morning." Quinn threw herself onto her chair and crossed her arms.
"Look Quinn I know I fucked- Wait what?" I quirk my eyebrow at Quinn as she does her usual evil smirk. "Dude, not funny" I huff and she laughs.
"Kinda funny" She shrugs and leans over to sketch something in her book. "Look San, This company only works when we both put effort in. I get it, you're still upset about-"
"Shit Q! I get it! You don't have to bring her up. Yeah, you're mad and you have every right to be mad but I promise, It wasn't on purpose this time. I'm sorry for stopping for my caffeine fix but you know I can't speak to a real human being until I've had my coffee, Unless you wanted to present with a zombie?" Quinn rolls her eyes and lets out a chuckle, "Im sorry." I give Quinn my best puppy dog eyes,
"You know that shit doesn't work on me." Quinn looks up at me and stares for a second, "Are you going to actually do your job or are we playing who can stand and annoy Quinn for the longest?" I take the hint and leave Quinns studio, walking along to mine.
To be honest, I've had such a block lately. Ever since She who shall not be named dumped me, I've had no motivation to do anything. I can't make any new designs, I can't bring any of my designs to life, I just can't do anything. I sound so pathetic- god. This is not me, I'm meant to be the hot bitch of the company (Sorry Quinn) and instead I'm moping around like I'm nothing.
She made me into nothing.
The door of my office swings open,
"Did you say that you knocked a girl over?" Quinn asks confused.
"What?" I stare at her blankly, what is she talking about?
"Earlier, when you were explaining why you were late, you said you knocked some girl over. Was she okay?!" Quinn asks with urgency, Oh that girl. Yeah, that blonde who won't get out my head? Totally forgot about her.
"I think she was okay, I had to rush away. I said sorry and ran!" Quinn began to laugh, but stopped abruptly and raised her eyebrows,
"You, Santana Lopez, Said sorry? To a stranger? Who wasn't me or Blair?" Quinn acts surprised, I have no idea why... I say sorry all the time! Oh, and Blair. Blair is Quinns daughter, she had her when we were 16. Blair is five now and is the most sassy girl you'll ever know.
"Yup, I said sorry! Obviously I said sorry Q! I fucking knocked the girl straight off her feet! Boom, pow, bang, straight onto the floor!" I bang my hands together as a visual, because Quinn seems to be a slow learner.
"Was she hot?" Quinn raised an eyebrow and smirked.
"You could say that..." I think back to her blue eyes, they were so electric. Her long legs, god I'd have her wearing my designs on the runway so fast. Her face. I could never forget her face, She was the most gorgeous girl I had ever seen and-
"Oh you so would've banged her if we didn't have that meeting." Quinn laughs at me while I daze off thinking about her. We didn't even have that meeting, I could have gotten her number at least. Ugh. Another one lost.
"Would've, Could've, Should've."
"Stop quoting Taylor Swift Santana. No one likes Taylor Swift anymore!" I take large offence to that comment, I love Taylor Swift.
"Your daughter loves Taylor Swift so... It's two against one. We win!" Quinn looks confused as to how I know Blair loves Taylor Swift. "Dude I pick her up from school like everyday, we gotta jam to something."
"Oh my god! You converted my sweet baby! She needs therapy! Now!" She stops to think about what she just said, "Wait, I don't mean conversion therapy! Id be totally okay if she was gay. In fact I love the gays! Woohoo pride, lesbians, scissoring!" My eyes go wide as I see one of our Interns walk up behind Quinn at the absolute worst time.
"Sorry! Bad time?" The Intern, I have no clue what her name is, says.
"No, Its an okay time. Uhm... Rebecca?" Quinn and the Intern both turn to look at me with confused looks, "Rory?"
"My name is Sarah" The intern says, confused. Quinn bursts out laughing and apologises to the intern on behalf of me.
"Im bad with names." I shrug and the Intern- Sara, Says she'll come back later.
"That is more proof that you don't say sorry. You forgot the poor girls name and all you said was 'I'm bad with names' You could've at least added a sorry on the end." I shrug and smile, thinking about the blonde again. She would rock my new summer collection. Maybe she'll be at the coffee shop at the same time tomorrow...
