Having Harry stay at her apartment was surreal. They never really got to do it before because of the kids, so it was sort of like an adventure — like it was something forbidden they were doing.
All-in-all, it was like a dream. The only bad part about it was leaving him in the morning to go to her internship. But it was almost like they were a married couple — Harry sending her off to work and her greeting him when she got home. It was their own little love nest and they enjoyed it very much.
"Baby, I have something to speak to you about," Harry said that Thursday after she came home after a long day of meetings at work.
He had a twinkle in his eyes and excitement in his voice, and it made her feel delighted with anticipation. He was already halfway done with cooking dinner — something she'd gotten used to over the week. Harry always had dinner ready or nearly ready when she got home. He was her perfect little house husband.
"That smells amazing," she gushed before he was able to say what he wanted to say.
"Just something I whipped up," he said, playfully smirking at her.
"You're too good to me," she cooed, leaning up to plant a kiss on his lips as he stood in front of her.
"So I was out with Louis today," Harry started speaking.
"How is he? We should have him over for dinner before he goes back to LA," she suggested.
"He's good. I reckon he and Liz would love that," Harry told her with a smile.
She was nearly gushing with how domestic they sounded. Dinner parties and whatnot. She felt so much elation.
"Anyway, so I have a brilliant plan," Harry said with bright enthusiasm in his tone.
"And what's that?" She asked as she leaned against the countertop, watching him.
"So you know how your internship is ending in two weeks?"
"Yes. I'm going to really miss it," she said with a frown. Harry stuck out his bottom lip to show he cared, but continued on.
"So I was thinking... well, actually it was kind of Louis' idea..." Harry said, talking quickly.
"What is it?" She giggled at him, noticing he was a bit flustered.
"We should go back to California," he said, his eyes wide with excitement.
"To live?" She choked out, feeling immediate apprehension.
"No, no. I mean to visit," he told her with a laugh.
"Oh. Yeah. Okay. Sure. That sounds like fun," she agreed with a smile as the worry drained out of her as fast as it came.
"Just me and you, though. I just... I want it to be special. My mum and Daniel said they would stay in the States a little while longer if you wanted to take this trip with me. They'd watch the kids during my days with them," Harry explained.
