suspicion eyes stared ahead, analysing the movements of the boys in front of him. hoseok was speaking to jimin, seeming rather argumentative as he had his phone out and jimin kept shaking his head.

after some time, jimin took the phone and began type on before returning it. the male immediately walked away with a nervous expression which he attempted to cover up with a smile.

"jeongguk!" he called out and skipped over to the ravenette, "did you meet up with Eun?"

"why were you talking to hoseok?" jeongguk ignored his question and held onto his back pack straps with squinted eyes.

"he was just asking for my number-"

"didn't you give it last week?"

"yeah but i got nervous and gave him the wrong one so yeah," jimin was terrible at lying, it was obvious, but jeongguk decided to just let it go.

"it's still weird he chases after you like i don't hate the guts of his best friend," jeongguk shook his head merely and began to walk with jimin trailing beside him.

"which is why you should stop, so me and hoseok can at least live happily ever after," jimin smiled and looked up at the boy eagerly.

jeongguk just bitterly scoffed at his statement and disregarded it shortly after.

"did you get it?" taehyung whispered as he sat down beside hoseok who nodded as he took his phone out, "you should've asked jimin if he had a boyfriend."

"it was hard enough asking for his number," hoseok whispered back as he stared at the lecturer ahead of them.

"what reason did you give?"

"that i needed a few numbers to put down for some donation bullshit, i can't even remember," hoseok quietly laughed and turned to taehyung who began to type jeongguk's number in, "what are you gonna say?"

"i don't know, i'll just start acting really flirty and find out if he's single first," taehyung took a deep breath in and sent the first text.

unfortunately, taehyung never got the reply he wanted that fast. the lecture went on and the message was still on delivered, then the day went on and it was still the same.

soon enough, 3 days passed. taehyung forgot about his plan as quick as the message had been sent and it was back to avoiding jeongguk at all times.

until that one night he was sat on his couch shoving crisps in his mouth while on a movie marathon. his phone lit up beside him which made him jump, but he didn't expect much. he grabbed it carelessly and opened the notification only to quickly start choking after.

shit, shit what do i say? taehyung chugged some coke which was a bigger mistake as all the gas made it harder for him to swallow everything. he gathered himself and just let his ideas control his thumbs.

taehyung put down his phone and squeezed his eyes shut as he cursed. his plan was to expose jeongguk as a cheater, but the boy was single so how could he do that now? he needed something else as a way to ruin his reputation.

he looked back down at his phone only to realise that he had been left on seen. it was embarrassing and humbling but he had to remind himself it was all fake, he'd never genuinely like jeongguk. even if he did, that was the last way he'd approach it.

taehyung let his phone drop and he fell back onto his couch with a sad expression.
