The sun was shining brightly over the sky, covering the entire city in a troublesome heatwave. Most people were looking for a way to cool off, while others were inside tending to sunburn. Maka and Blackstar where together at the pond. Maka was reading as Blackstar was skipping stones. "Wow that's a streak!" Blackstar exclaimed as he skipped 13 times in a row "Huh Maka?!" Maka glanced up at him and giggled. "Yeah.. It was pretty cool." Maka grinned as she returned to her book. "She's not interested at all, I bet all she's thinking about soul, damn it." Maka and Blackstar had been in a relationship for the past month. Soul had gotten into a fight with Maka, which led to their breakup. Blackstar took an immediate interest in her as soon as she was single, resulting in a relationship. His only problem was how Maka never seemed to pay attention to him. He'd do something he thought was magnificent, and then moments later Maka would respond quietly and coldly, then returning to her books. Those fucking books pissed him off so much. Blackstar shook his head and stood up quickly, grabbing Maka with him. Maka's hands slipped and her book fell into the pond "My book!" She screamed, attracting a ton of attention. "It doesn't fucking matter." Blackstar grunted. Maka gasped in disbelief as Blackstar yanked her by the wrist, treading toward the end of the park. The two had finally arrived home, to be greeted by Soul. " Hey welcome back!" He beamed. Maka hugged him as Blackstar stood in the door, gazing at Soul with an obvious look of hate in his eyes. They weren't friends like they were a month ago. Soul raised an eyebrow. "Something wrong?" He questioned Blackstar. "Nothing." The blue haired assassin sneered. "Then why don't you come in?" Soul grinned. Blackstar shook his head and left without explanation "He's been acting odd lately." Maka informed him as she sat down on the couch. Soul shrugged his shoulders and sat beside her, he let out a fake yawn along with a strech, resting his arm around Maka. She blushed and looked up at him, "Smooth." She said smiling. "I know right." Soul chuckled. Maka rested her head on his shoulder. And they fell asleep that way. Later on into the night Blackstar came back by to check in on Maka, and what he saw through the window he couldn't believe. The two were cuddling tightly, something he and Maka never did. Maka had always said she hated cuddles. Tears began to rush down his cheeks. He.covered his face with his freezing hands, sobbing quietly as he ran home without stopping, only one thought racing through his mind
"She doesn't love me."
He got no sleep at all that night, and by the time that the sun rose, he had a plan:
"They will both pay, no body does this to Blackstar."
The next morning He had arrived at Maka and Soul's house. "Hey Maka, mind coming here for a second?" He said cheerfully Maka skipped over to him. "What is it Blackstar?"
"I have a surprise for you!"
Before Maka could respond he grabbed her hand and pulled her out the door.
They took several turns that Maka had never taken before. At last they came to a dark alleyway. "Uh... Blackstar?" Maka quivered. He yanked her in front of him, shoving her to the ground viciously. "Shut the fuck up." He shouted. Maka stared up at him. He had a look of pure madness in his eyes. She backed away slowly until Blackstar pulled our a small knife. Maka looked terrified as he inched toward her with the sharp object. "Blackstar! I-I'm sorry! I didn't me-" Maka was cut short as Black star sliced her arm and it began to bleed madly. He shook his head. "When will you fucking learn how to handle a relationship, whore?" Maka shed a tear and clinched her fist at him, bad move. Blackstar socked her right in the jaw, knocking her back wards. Before she could look back up at him, he smacked her and punched her harder than before. After a while Maka was a bruised, beaten mess. Meanwhile at home, Soul had finally woke up. He searched the house for Maka, who didn't seem to be there. It wasn't like her to leave without letting him know. He got dressed quickly and jolted out the door. It wasn't long till he heard screaming from afar, the scream was familiar.
"MAKA!" He yelped, running towards the screams as quickly as he possibly could. He finally found an alley that seemed to be the source of all of the screams. He ran towards it, but stopped in shock.
What he saw brought tears to his eyes.
