You were Ms. Y/N, employed at Mikage Corp. You had been working there for over two years, climbing the corporate ladder quickly for several reasons:
1)You were skilled and confident. 2)You had a charismatic personality, forming numerous connections and friendships. You mingled with the upper echelons of the business world, making it easier for the corporation to secure deals with desired companies. 3)Mikage Reo.
Let me explain.
You and Mikage Reo were classmates for five years, first meeting in the eighth grade. Although you didn't talk much initially, a shared love for bamboo shoots, a snack you both enjoyed, sparked a cordial friendship. You, Reo, and his friend Nagi often hung out, with frequent visits to museums-an activity Reo's parents deemed "cultured," which helped you get along well with them.
However, as life progressed, your paths diverged. You pursued a career in business, while Reo and Nagi focused on football. You weren't entirely alone, though. On one of your museum trips, you met Sara, an art student looking for references. You struck up a conversation and quickly became best friends. Thus, it was you and Sara, and Reo and Nagi.
But something began to bother you when Reo returned from Bluelock for a break. Despite seeing each other a bit less often, you found yourself increasingly captivated by Reo-his eye rolls when complimented on his wealth, his smile, and his intense focus while analyzing matches. You were confused by these feelings, hesitant to risk your friendship but wanting something more. Reo also seemed to seek closeness, evident in his more frequent hugs and conversations, but you brushed it off. Before you knew it, his final week before returning to Bluelock had arrived.
Upset at having missed your chance to ask about his feelings, you confided in Sara. Understanding your situation, she surprised you with a beautiful pencil sketch of Reo's eyes. "You can keep it as your screen's wallpaper, something to remind you of him when he's away," she said.

Touched, you decided to use the sketch as the wallpaper on your work laptop.
Fast forward three days, it was the day your team was presenting a proposal to the Mikage family. In the conference room, you, your two colleagues, and your boss prepared nervously. Mika, one of your colleagues, assured you that everything would be fine. You nodded and reviewed everyone's lines, hoping to calm your nerves. You were still waiting for Nanami, the main presenter.
The investors, along with Reo's parents, had gathered, but Nanami hadn't arrived. Your boss, sensing the investors' impatience, pulled you aside.
"Hey Y/N, you were reading everyone's lines earlier, right? Do you remember them?"
"Uh, yeah... why?"
"It's settled then. You're our main presenter today."
"Wait, WHAT-"
Before you could protest, your boss introduced you as the presenter. You steadied yourself, confidently delivering both your lines and Nanami's. You were so engrossed in the presentation that you didn't notice Reo quietly entering and sitting at the back.
"Well, that's it for today. I hope you consider investing in our product. The details are in the PPT I just presented, summarized on my screen," you said, gesturing toward the projector connected to your laptop.
Everyone seemed pleased, and the investors were the first to leave. So did your colleagues, leaving just you, Reo, and his family. As you closed your presentation and began shutting down your laptop, which had returned to its home screen, you realized-

An awkward silence filled the room as everyone stared at your screen. In your haste, you had forgotten to change the wallpaper showing the sketch of Reo's eyes.
Reo's parents exchanged a pleased look, with his mom saying, "Good choice, Reo-kun! We wholeheartedly approve of Y/N-san!"
Oops. They had gotten the wrong idea.
They left, giving you and Reo some alone time. Reo, initially confused, quickly pieced things together.
"Well, Y/N-san, I have a surprise for you," he said, pulling out his phone to reveal a wallpaper of you smiling. Just beneath the photo, it read, "My girlfriend, hopefully :)"
