"Ew." I mutter at a girl who's all over a guy that very clearly doesn't feel the same way.

I don't recognize the girl, but I definitely recognize the guy. Everyone in this shitty private school knows who he is.

"Hello?" A high-pitched voice interrupts my thoughts. I turn my head to see who it is and the same girl who was all over Hayes — the popular guy I mentioned — is standing in front of me.

So, my remark might've been a bit louder than I thought.

"Hm?" I raise my eyebrows to show that I'm listening. I'm not, but I have to make it seem that way.

She looks me up and down without saying a word.

Maybe the hitting on Hayes was just a cover-up. She might be-

"Can you hear?" She crosses her arms while she rolls her eyes at me. I snap back into reality and tilt my head in response to her.

"Sorry, what were you saying?" I apologize, even though I don't mean it. She's the one being a bitch, why should I have to apologize?

"I heard your little comment. I don't know why you're saying that to me, considering the way you look." She smirks as her words come out.

She's doing nothing, but proving she's an idiot. What does she have to be proud of?

"I said that about the way you were acting, not the way you look. Even though, you're not really pleasing to look at either." I squint after I'm done talking. I just want to see if she looks better that way.

"Nope, still the same." I sigh.

Keep your thoughts in your head, Penn.

"You're just mad that Hayes wants me and not you."

And there you have it, folks. The biggest lie ever told.

"I don't want you, so that's not true." Hayes finally speaks up. He looks over at me and starts to examine my face?

I don't know, but he was looking really hard.

"I don't really know him, so I couldn't care less about that. Also, I have to get to class, so let's wrap this up." I say with a slight smile because I'm happy to be walking away from this conversation.

As I'm walking off, I notice Hayes still starting into my soul. I give him a weird look and then turn my head.

I hate eye contact, it's weird. Why is looking into someone's eyes even a thing? Isn't it stu-

"Penelope?" My teacher calls out as I'm just standing in front of the open door. I look up at her, as she motions for me to come inside.

"Right, sorry." I apologize before walking in and sitting in my seat.

I have got to stop zoning out.

Where is he?

I have zero punctuality and I still got here on time. Speaking of punctuality, that's such a weird word.
