Chapter Three
Really glad people are liking this story :) I know people want some Robby/Tory scenes...here you go.
The LaRusso's and Tory were all sitting at the table, about to begin talking when there was a knock on the door.
"I'll get it," Amanda said, standing up. A few seconds later she came back in. "Tory, it's for you," Amanda told her, a soft smile on her face.
Tory nodded and walked to the front door. She saw Robby and froze. She had ignored him the last two days and felt bad about it. He deserved better than to get ignored.
"I'm so sorry, Robby." Tory rushed out before Robby could say anything.
Robby held up his hand. "it's okay. I get it. I would've closed off if my mom died too." Robby told her and watched his girlfriend look down at hearing those words. She still couldn't believe that her mom had died when she was starting to get better as well. "Do you think I can come in?"
Tory nodded. "Of course you can." Tory moved to let him in and closed the door behind him. "Robby, I really am sorry for coming late to the fight."
Robby put his hands on Tory's shoulders and pulled her closer. "Hey, I told you it's okay. You came just in time to help me pull out the win." Robby tried to reassure her but could tell it didn't work so he pulled Tory into his arms. He felt her grip his t-shirt, almost like she was scared he would disappear. He gently held her head to his shoulder, feeling her breath on his neck he sighed. He hated that she was having such a hard time right now.
The couple were standing in each other arms for minutes when Amanda walked in the room. She saw Tory in Robby's arms, eyes closed. She cleared her throat attracting their attention.
"Sorry to interrupt but we still need to talk to you, Tory." Tory pulled away from Robby but clutched his hand. Not wanting him to go anywhere.
"Is it okay if Robby stays?" Tory asked. Amanda nodded and let the kids walk into the kitchen before her, wanting to shut the living room lights off.
Everyone gets settled at the dining room table with a drink, Anthony included.
"So, first things first. We all need to get on the same page." Amanda took charge of this conversation. "I know this is a hard time for you, Tory, so we can wait until tomorrow, but I'd like to think you'd want to get this out of the way."
"Is this about me maybe staying here?" Tory asked, looking down at her hand that was intertwined with Robby's.
"It is," Amanda said and motioned for Daniel to talk.
"We know that you and your brother will need support. We're willing to give you the support needed, Tory." Daniel told her. "Anything you need, we want you to feel free to ask, okay?" Tory nodded, not saying anything. "Now, it's nearly 7 pm and none of us have eaten. Want anything specific?"
"I'm not picky," Tory told them. "I, uh. I'm not really hungry but can we maybe just have something simple? Maybe order?" Tory asked nervously.
Amanda smiled, glad Tory was comfortable enough to ask. "How about pizza?" Amanda offered.
Tory looked at Amanda, smiled and then nodded.
"I'll order some pizza. Kids, how about we set up the living room for a movie night?" Daniel said. Amanda watched Anthony's and Sam's reactions, scared they were going to groan since they both hated family movie nights but was pleasantly surprised when they smiled and nodded. She watched them get up and walk away, Robby and Tory behind them.
Amanda sighed. She watched Tory walk away and saw her gripping onto Robby's hand like she was scared he would disappear. Amanda knew this was going to be hard on Tory, she just hoped Tory would learn that it's okay to lean on them.
"Shit," Amanda said, remembering they forgot to mention the fight.
Daniel had just walked back into the kitchen after ordering pizza when he heard Amanda swear.
"What? What is it?"
"We forgot to bring up fighting for captain," Amanda told him, and Daniel sighed.
"I think it can wait until tomorrow," Daniel told her but before he could continue they saw Tory walking in.
"I was just hoping to get a glass of water," Tory said, and Amanda nodded, getting her a glass herself.
It was silent between the three of them for a moment before Tory spoke after taking a sip of the water.
"I don't want to be captain," Tory told them.
"What?" Tory heard from behind her and closed her eyes. She hated that she was going to be breaking her promise to Robby.
"I just don't think I can," Before Tory could continue Robby interrupted.
"Don't think you can what? Fight? Because you told us that you fighting is what your mother would've wanted." Robby told her and she looked down. Robby walked closer. "Tory, I know that this is heartbreaking and life-changing for you. I understand. But you cannot give up on something I know you love to do."
"What's the point? I couldn't even keep my cool during the fight with Sam. I almost punched her in the face, Robby. You saw it. Everyone did." Tory said and her eyes teared up, heart still heavy at the thought of almost seriously hurting her enemy-turned-friend.
"Hey, hey, hey." Robby tries to calm her down and holds her shoulders. "I get this is hard, okay? I do. We all get it. We may not all completely know how you're feeling right now but we do understand that it's difficult." Robby tried to comfort her. "Look, how about you make me a deal?" Robby tries and watches Tory look at him with an eyebrow raised. "You fight me. See how it feels. If you feel the normal spark you do when fighting, you fight Sam for the female captain. If you don't feel it, it's totally fine. Okay?" Robby got Tory to look at him. "You do what you want."
Tory nodded and wrapped her arms around Robby. She pulled back and looked to see if Daniel and Amanda were still in the room. When she saw that they were alone she pulled Robby into a kiss. When they pulled apart a moment later both had smiles on their faces.
"So, I know after Silver got arrested I said I didn't want to do all the mushy stuff," Tory started. "But I do want you to know that I care about you so much. I honestly don't know what I'd do without you, Robby." Tory paused, looking into Robby's eyes. "I love you, Robby."
Robby's smile grew bigger. "I love you too, Tory."
