Note: Emma is my nickname for Emerald (incase you guys get confused).
"Emerald MacKenzie and Justin Ryan Oliver you two are going to be late for your first day of school if you don't come down here now!" Katherine Hillard-Oliver screames from downstairs to her siblings who were like a daughter and son to her.
Kat had been calling Justin's last name 'Oliver' instead of 'Stewart' which he really didn't mind considering he had been living there for 6 years.
Little did Kat know, her siblings were actually on a shadowhunter mission that night so it was really late when they came back home.
"Kat, I don't wanna go!" Emerald screamed back still tired from her and Justin's mission.
"No, it's high school, you need to go. You two have been lazing around and having fun all summer now it's time to go to school. Wake your brother up for me." Katherine said.
"Yes mom." Emerald replied walking to Justin's room, she knocked the door and saw it was unlocked, so she let herself in. "Wake up!" She yelled shaking Justin vigorously.
"What?" Justin murmured still half-asleep.
"It's our first day of school." Emerald said still shaking him. After a bit, he finally sat up.
"Jace really needs to alert us in advance, some of us have school." Justin murmured.
"You got that right, now let's go downstairs and have breakfast before we're late." Emerald said grabbing Justin and both running downstairs.
"Eat up you two. You don't want Tommy to be late on his first day right?" Kat asked.
"It's not our fault Tommy decided to teach in high school." Justin started.
"And coincidentally, requested we be in his science class." Emerald finished.
"It would be a great way for you two to bond with Tommy." Kat reminded them.
"About what? Dinosaurs? Why do we have to be in his class, and how are we gonna bond with him with dinosaurs?" Emerald questioned while taking a towel and walking to the restroom to take a shower.
"Yeah, and could we at least take the bus like normal kids or our skate boards." Justin agreed taking another towel and walking to the restroom to take a shower since Emerald was done.
"I'd be easier to ride with Tommy though." Kat said proving a point.
"Still, makes no sense." Emerald answered while pulling her pink shirt over her head. She then wore a black leather jacket with matching black leather pants and black ankle boot heels. She looked at the mirror combing her black long, thick, and wavy hair and also put on some light makeup. She lastly made her runes invisible, because both her and Justin didn't want anyone to find out about their secrets.
"You know we're not in shadowhunter business right?" A familiar teanage boy asked quietly so Kat and Tommy won't hear. She jumped, and looked behind her to find Justin in a black shirt, black leather jacket, and black ripped jeans with white converse and hair of a bad boy.
"Well being a shadowhunter rubbed of on me and made me a badass."
She answered."Yep, me too. But why don't we ride our motorcycles to school? I mean, Dustin and the Bradley Brothers did teach us right?" He asked.
"One, we knew how to ride before we were ninja rangers we were even better in motorcycle riding than them. And two as if Kat and Tommy will allow us." She said annoyed from her brother's stupidity but she felt a different kind of love for Justin, a love that was way deeper than sibling love.
*Both ran downstairs*
"Good morning you two. So how do you like the new house?"
Tommy asked."It's nice I liked the old one better though" Emerald said grabbing her backpack.
"But I liked Angel Grove even more."
Justin said coldly grabbing his backpack."Emma, Just-" Tommy started.
"Look Tommy, we just moved. Don't expect us to adjust so easily when we just left our old friends, school, lives, and home. Can we just go to school now?" Justin scowled.
"Yeah, get in the car." Tommy said.
*They both went to the car*
Kat glared at him and he put his arms up.
"You know it's a hard transition for them. We have to let them adjust at their own pace. " Kat reminded
"I know." Tommy started. "We need to help them with adjusting so don't signal them or act like their brother in school."
"Which they would be grateful for." Kat said while fixing his tie and straightening his shirt. "Have a good day as a teacher. Love you."
"What can I do without you? Love you too." Tommy said kissing his wife.
They then drove to school but didn't say a word to each other.
"This school looks really nice." He said parking with the other teachers.
"Yeah, but Angel Grove looks even better." Emerald replied coldly.
"Emma! One more word about Angel Grove and you'll be-" He scolded
"Grounded? Yeah we know. But you've been a student at Angel Grove high yourself, and nothing will ever beat Ernie's juice bar." Justin said defending Emerald.
Tommy smiled at the old days when he was a student and they along with their ranger teammates went to the juice bar after school almost everyday.
"Just don't forget that you have to pick us up later too." Emerald reminded as her and Justin got out of the car eager to avoid Tommy at all costs.
They walked as fast as possible without looking back and Tommy walking behind them. They almost bumped into the principal but before she could get mad at them, she saw Tommy. "Ah, Doctor Oliver. I'm Principal Randall it's nice to meet you!" She greeted.
"Nice to meet you. These are my siblings, Emerald and Justin." He introduced.
"I thought these were your kids." She asked confused.
"Well my mom and dad had an unexpected pregnancy with Emerald and we lost our parents before her first birthday and Justin lost both his parents 6 years ago, since my parents were close with his, I had full custody after their deaths. So it's just been me, my wife, and these two." He explained.
The two teens rolled their eyes and gave a fake smile when he shook the principal's hand.
"But why would a Doctor of Paleontology go all the way to Reefside just to teach high schoolers?" Principal Randall asked.
"That's exactly what I was thinking." Emerald answered earning a cold glare from her brother which she gladly returned.
"Well I hope you two have a nice day." Principal Randall replied, walking away from them.
"Looks like Justin and I need to get to class." Emerald said, as her and Justin tried walking away.
"Hold on you two!" He said stopping them. "Justin you'll be in my class first and you'll be in my class after Emerald."
This is going to be embarrassing for all three of them.
