After our first encounter me and the boy started to hang out more. I never had a friend before so I enjoyed having him around. After a while he started carrying a note book he would use to talk to me through badly spelt sentences and doodles.
I learned that we were actually the same age and his name was obanai iguro. He also told me about his pet snake, Kaburamaru. It became routine to meet up in the bush every day.
"Hey Iggy, which school do you go to?" I asked as he looked at me with a confused look.
"Do you know what school is?" I asked, he shook his head. I discovered that he didn't know much, like he had been locked away for his entire life.
In shaky hand writing he wrote in his notebook 'ᗯOT IՏ ՏᑕOᒪ?' And showed it to me.
"It's this building where people try teach you stuff" I told him "and there are other kids there, but I'm not friends with any of them cause I think there all annoying"
He started writing something in his notebook before showing it me 'ᗩᖇ ᗯᗴᗴ ᖴᖇᗴᑎᗪՏ?'
"Obviously" I replied
He looked down at his notebook and started drawing something a minute later he showed it to me.
I looked at the drawing trying to figure out what it was. Realising I didn't know what it was he pointed at the tree with the broken down tree house in it.
"Oh that's a tree house, the last owners of this house built it" I told him
'ᑕᗩᑎ ᗯᗴᗴ ᘜOᗴ Iᑎ?' He wrote in his notebook.
"No the ladder is broken and it probably wouldn't be able to hold our wait anyway"
'ᗯOT Iᖴ ᗯᗴᗴ ᖴIᑕՏ IT?'
"Do you think we could?" I asked and he nodded "you're right I bet we could fix it!" I said confidently
We spent the next 2 weeks fixing the old tree house. Luckily most of the wooden planks were still intact and there but we had to find ways of filling in holes from missing planks.
We used large sticks and pieces of broken fence. We were even able to find a large pallet trashed in my garden.
Eventually we finished it. It wasn't the best tree houses, it was probably one of the worst. There was basically no roof and it was barley able to hold us but it worked for us.

. . . "Finally I was wondering when you'd show up" I said to obanai as I walked up to him and pulled him up, he struggled to get into the tree house on his own.
"What took you so long?" I asked
He pulled his note book, which he had tucked into the back of his shorts to climb, and he started writing something
'ՏOᖇY, ᗪᗩᗪ ᗯᑌᒪᗪ ᑎOT ᒪᗴT ᗰᗴ ᒪᗴᗴᐯ'
"Well I'm glad you were able to make it" I said smiling at him. I may not have been able to see his mouth due to his bandages but I could tell he smiled back.
"Guess what" he looked at puzzled "I was able to steal a box of my fathers playing cards" I said pulling a deck of cards out of my pocket
"I'm gonna teach you how to play war, the rules are pretty simple"
I told him the rules as I dished out 26 cards to each of us and we started to play. Obanai was a fast learner so he picked up on it pretty fast.
When I made my move obanai started writing something down in his notebook
'I ᕼᗩᐯ ᗩ ᑫᑌᗴՏTOᑎ'
"Sure what is it?" I asked
'ᗯY ᗪO Yᑌ ᕼᗩᐯ ᗯITᗴ ᕼᗩᖇᗴ?"
"Well... My mum says it cause I have something called albinism, which means that I have no color in my skin hair and eyes" I told him
We continued to play before I decided to start a conversation "I have a question for you. How come you have two different colored eyes?"
'I ᕼᗩᐯ ᑎO IᗪIᗩ' he wrote which made me laugh
He reached into his pocket and handed me a chocolate bar
"Thanks" I said opening the packet and eating the chocolate bar "did you not bring one for yourself?"
He shook his head "do you wanna share this one?" I asked but he shook his head again before playing another card
"You know your really odd Iggy" I said he looked up at me "but I get called that too so I think that just means we're meant to be best friends"
He nodded in agreement smiling
"School is meant to be starting in a couple days do you know if your meant to be going" I asked and he just shrugged
"Well I sure hope you come to my school. You being there will make it less dull" I told him
We played cards for a bit longer talking about anything we could think of before ruka called obanai because his dinner was ready.
"I'll see you tomorrow Iggy" I said, he ran up to me and hugged me before grabbing his notebook tucking it back in his shorts and hastily climbing down the ladder. When I looked over the edge of the tree house I saw him running up to the bush and climbing into it. It made me sad to see him leave but I knew he'd be back.
