Mal looking at him still.

“Honey what's wrong..”

Toxic speaks again-

“Maverick, you need to tell us what's going on and why arrow had to cover your ass. Because I'm sure that this won't last more than a day.”

Arrow nods in agreement.

“I can pull strings at the office for the time being but if you wanna stay out of the hands of law enforcement. You have to tell us.”

Mal and Maverick are still looking at each other. They both know that Denver didn't want anyone else knowing about Smokey but Mal sighs and runs her hand through her hair. She looks at arrow and toxic.

“Promise me u won't tell Denver any of this.”

The two of them nod slightly. Waiting to hear what happen. Malibu takes a shaky breath and looks at them.

“When Maverick left.. I had called him.. eventually and he didn't pick up..dad did-”

Toxics eyes widen and he growled

“He what! And you didn't think to tell anyone! Not even me!”

Arrow looks at toxic.

“Toxic calm down. Both of them are safe. Let's hear what she has to say..”

Mal nods

“Thanks arrow.. anyway.. he wanted ‘the book’ in exchange for maverick. So… I ended up telling Denver and we made a mock copy of the book… We gave him the mock copy thinking maybe it was enough to fool dad. But when he realized it was fake. He shot at me and Maverick. Denver then shot dad in the foot..”

Arrow rubs her face and shakes her head.

“So why are the cops after maverick then.”

Mal shrugs and looks at mav. Mav turns his ears back and begins his explanation.

“When your father had me he also had this k9. He was really skinny. I tried talking him into getting me out if there and when he did… Smokey came out without me knowing and shot the dog. So.. I'm assuming the k9 was… Zipper whatever his last name was… but how would he have staged me killing him.”

Arrow rubs her face in aggravation. Toxic looks at maverick then at Malibu.

“You two realize that this puts us in even more danger.”

Arrow starts after toxic has his word.

“He could have used many things.. but I don't know what they found unless I'm put in the case which means… Maverick, your gonna have to turn yourself in.”

Mals eyes widen.

“Hell no! I'm not letting him leave!”

Maverick rubs his face

“Malibu this might be the only way. Is to actually take this legally. Without it getting out of hand.”

Arrow agrees with Mavericks' statement.

“Your boyfriend is right. If he can testify against our father. And prove that our father is guilty then we will be safe for a while till he reaches parol if he ever does.”

Mal looks at maverick. 

“when will this happen..”

Arrow answers.

“as soon as tomorrow but to get on the good side of everything he should turn himself in today so the judge doesn't have to sign off on a warrant and what not.”
