After leaving the hospital, Alonso Fields had to go back to work, so he asked the driver to drop him off at the company before taking Olive Patton home.

Sitting in the backseat of the car, Olive was sipping on her soy milk with a straw, while Alonso was eating a sandwich. He had already finished his own and was now eating the one Olive couldn't finish. Alonso hadn't had breakfast yet and needed to hurry back to the company, so he quickly bought a sandwich to fill his stomach. Seeing him take big bites of the sandwich, Olive was worried he might choke, so she offered her straw to him and said, "Take a few sips." Alonso obediently lowered his head and took a couple of sips of the soy milk from Olive's hand. The soy milk was sweet, warm, and just right. Olive glanced guiltily at the bulge in Alonso's throat, which still bore the imprint of her teeth. He would have to go to work with that mark on his neck. At that moment, Olive's phone suddenly rang. She took it out of her bag and saw the name "Ms. Patton" flashing on the screen. Alonso also looked over, so Olive tilted the screen and answered the call. "Mom." On the other end, Mrs. Patton asked, "I heard from your in-laws that you and Alonso went for a check-up today. Are you planning to have a baby?" "Yes." "Why didn't you tell me about such a big thing?" "It's just a check-up for now." Olive's tone was indifferent, and her face showed no expression. "You finally decided to have a child? I've been telling you to have one sooner. Otherwise, Mrs. Fields might change her mind and find someone else..." Olive's heart skipped a beat. She quickly turned her head and rolled down the car window, letting in the noise from outside. She didn't know if Alonso could hear the voice on the phone, but she realized that her mother was speaking in Ives Estates dialect, which Alonso couldn't understand. Interrupting her mother, Olive asked, "Mom, is there something you need?" "Can't I call you if there's nothing wrong? How long has it been since you last called?" Mrs. Patton complained, "Ever since you got married and moved to Aloha, you seem to have forgotten that you still have a family in Ives Estates." Feeling a bit powerless, Olive knew that her mother always talked like this, so she didn't want to engage in a long conversation with her. "If there's nothing else, I'll hang up. I just finished my check-up and I'm tired." Olive said casually. "Just a few words and you want to hang up? Is it because you have Mrs. Fields now and don't want me as your mother anymore? If it wasn't for me, could you have married so well? Now that you've grown wings..." With the sarcastic words of her mother in her ears, Olive clenched her phone and glanced at Alonso beside her, only to find him looking at her too. She lowered her eyes, feeling a bit embarrassed. "What's wrong?" Alonso leaned over and asked. Mrs. Patton heard his voice and paused for a moment before continuing, "Is Alonso next to you?""Um," Olive murmured softly."Let Alonso take the call. I need to talk to him," Olive said, glancing at Alonso who was staring at her.Olive hesitated for two seconds before handing him the phone. "It's my mom looking for you."Alonso took the phone and casually closed the window on Olive's side. "It's windy."He put the phone to his ear, greeted her mother, and naturally used his free hand to brush Olive's wind-blown hair. He responded with a few "Mm-hmm"s and "Not busy" and "Nothing's wrong," leaving Olive clueless about what her mother had said to him. When Alonso finished the call and handed the phone back to Olive, she finally asked him."What did my mom say to you?""She mentioned that it's almost my grandmother's death anniversary and asked us to visit Ives Estates," Alonso replied. It was her grandmother's death anniversary again.Olive slowly put her phone back in her bag, feeling absent-minded. "Are you going to Ives Estates?""Yeah, I have some free time. I'll accompany you," Alonso nodded, putting his arm around Olive's shoulder and attentively observing her expression. Olive had a close relationship with her grandmother, and Alonso was worried that this special day would make her sad.Olive leaned against his shoulder, feeling her heart in disarray after the phone call. She lowered her eyes and blinked once after a long while. Her long eyelashes fluttered as she murmured, "I haven't visited my grandmother for a long time..."Hearing her dejected voice, Alonso sighed inwardly and gently stroked her head a few times. The two fell into silence for a few minutes before Alonso arrived at the company. Before getting out of the car, he reminded her to have her aunt prepare some food for her when she returned home. She had given several tubes of blood today and needed to replenish herself.Olive waved her hand absentmindedly, signaling for him to get out of the car.Her mind was in a mess, not only because she had agreed to prepare for pregnancy with Alonso, but also because of her grandmother's death anniversary and the fact that Alonso was about to go back to Ives Estates with her...She stared blankly at the rapidly retreating street scene outside the car window when she suddenly caught sight of a pharmacy.Olive quickly lowered the partition between the front and back seats and said to the driver, "Mr. Meyer, could you please turn back a bit? I want to go to the pharmacy to buy some stomach medicine.""Is your stomach not feeling well, Olive?" Mr. Meyer asked with concern, adjusting the steering wheel to find a way to turn back.Olive gently rubbed her stomach and replied softly, "Yeah, it's a bit uncomfortable..."*Alonso returned home just before dinner, bathed in the evening glow.As soon as he got home, he found Olive. The housekeeper told him that Olive had been in the music room all afternoon. He walked to the door of the music room and heard the sound of the piano flowing out.He opened the door, and the sound of the piano suddenly became louder. He stood by the door, watching Olive sitting on the piano stool. This room was specially decorated as a piano room for Olive. The grand piano in the center of the room was worth five million and was specially ordered by Alonso for Olive. The first time he saw her, Olive was playing the piano. It was the day of Olive's grandmother's funeral, and Alonso, at the request of his elderly grandmother who had limited mobility, came to accompany her friend to visit the Patton family. It was by chance that Alonso stumbled upon Olive practicing in the piano room.Alonso leaned against the door with his arms crossed, his gaze fixed on Olive, attentively listening to every note she played. Each melody evoked memories for him. He remembered the scene when he first saw Olive playing alone in the piano room. It was a rainy day, with a misty white view outside the window. The melodious piano music blended with the sound of rain, like a whisper between lovers. That day, he was just a passerby, unintentionally disturbing. When the piano stopped abruptly, he heard the woman sobbing and crying, her head buried in the piano. He silently left without leaving a trace of his presence. But today, as the piano music stopped, Alonso lifted his feet and walked towards Olive.Upon hearing the footsteps, Olive turned her head and saw Alonso approaching her.Alonso gazed at Olive and noticed the redness in the corners of her eyes. He hurried over and stood in front of her, unsure of how to console her.He wondered, how long did Olive cry alone after he left? Did anyone comfort her?"May I sit?" Olive said in a muffled voice, moving her body to the side, making room on the piano bench.Alonso sat down as she gestured, his large frame occupying most of the chair. The two sat closely together, their thighs touching. Olive could feel Alonso's warm body temperature through his thin trousers. They sat in silence, neither of them speaking for a while. After a while, Alonso suddenly lifted one hand and placed it on the piano keys."Doo-"Alonso wasn't very skilled, stumbling through a short section of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." His slender fingers gracefully landed on the black and white keys.Olive stared at his hand, leaning her head against his shoulder.Alonso only knew a small section and couldn't play anything else after that. He felt inexplicably nervous and glanced at Olive, worried that she would laugh at him."You can play the piano too?" Olive blinked her eyes, looking at Alonso with curiosity."No, I learned a little when I was young, but then I stopped." When he was young, old Mrs. Fields had made him try a few musical instruments, but Alonso would always give up after learning a little. He didn't know he would marry a woman who played the piano in the future. Otherwise, he would have learned a bit more when he was young, so he wouldn't embarrass himself in front of her now."Why don't you learn?" Olive asked."...Practicing the piano can be a bit boring," Alonso explained concisely.Olive had seen him in the office, focused and professional, displaying the image of a mature elite. She had also seen him in the gym, punching the sandbag with every blow causing it to sway, exuding a wild and masculine aura. This was the first time she had seen him play the piano, and she couldn't help but imagine Alonso sitting on the piano stool, practicing over and over again. After a while, the young Alonso grew impatient, furrowing his brows like a little adult."Ha!" Olive couldn't help but burst into laughter. She didn't enjoy sports, and Alonso didn't enjoy playing the piano. It turned out there were things he didn't want to do as well.Seeing Olive laugh, Alonso breathed a sigh of relief."When my grandmother taught me to play the piano, the first piece I learned was 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,'" Olive smiled at Alonso, then straightened her posture and placed her hands on the keys. "And that's when I started to enjoy playing the piano.""But there was also a time when I hated practicing the piano because my mom forced me to practice for four hours every day. I often cried while playing," Olive pressed the keys, and the smooth notes flowed out, the same melody Alonso had just played. "Fortunately, my grandmother was always there with me, encouraging me, and she would always praise me for playing well. She said she loved listening to me play..."Lost in her memories, Olive's fingers danced involuntarily. The variation of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" filled the piano room, and the delightful melody echoed in every corner.Alonso listened silently, watching her fingers fly. Her nails were short, neatly trimmed. He had never seen her paint them with bright nail polish; they always had a natural, translucent appearance. Her delicate fingers were whiter than jasmine buds, and on that hand, her left ring finger was adorned with a wedding ring he had placed on it.He remembered the moment on their wedding day when he held her hand and slipped the ring onto her finger...As the final note fell, Olive seemed to forget her worries. She felt much lighter, no longer weighed down like she had been in the afternoon."You play beautifully," the man beside her praised.Olive turned to look at him, meeting his gaze. Warm and hazy light shimmered in his eyes."Thump-thump."Olive's heartbeat suddenly skipped a beat, then raced again.
