I sat behind my desk, the mahogany surface polished to a high sheen under the harsh fluorescent lights of my office. The cityscape outside my window was a blur of gray and concrete, but today, it seemed more ominous than usual. My fingers drummed impatiently on the leather armrest of my chair as I waited for David.

The door swung open with a heavy thud against the wall, announcing his arrival before he even stepped into the room. David Morelli, my third in command, filled the doorway with his imposing presence. His black hair was neatly trimmed, and his eyes, a piercing black, scanned the room before settling on me. He closed the door with a definitive click and approached my desk.

"What have you found out?" I asked, cutting straight to the point. The missing spies of Kortorino Bratva were a thorn in our side, and time was running out.

David placed a folder on my desk, his expression grim. "Not good news, boss. They've gone dark. No communication, no traces. It's like they vanished into thin air."

I opened the folder, scanning the sparse information inside. "This is unacceptable. We need those spies back, or at least what happened to them."

David nodded, his jaw tightening. "I've got men on it, Lorenzo. We'll find them."

Just then, the door burst open again, this time with more urgency. My little brother enters striding in my office with his strong physique, brown hair and eyes and tattoed arms. Dominic, my second in command and brother, his face a mask of fury. "We've got a problem," he growled, tossing a bloody joker card onto my desk.

My eyes followed the card as it landed with a soft thud next to the folder. "Explain," I demanded, my voice cold.

Dominic took a deep breath, his chest heaving. "Another underboss, dismantled. Found him just an hour ago. Knife between the eyes, just like the others."

A chill ran down my spine. This wasn't just about missing spies anymore; this was a full-blown assault on our organization. "Where?" I asked, already knowing the answer wouldn't be comforting.

"Alleyway off 5th," Dominic replied, his hands clenched into fists at his sides. "It's getting personal, Lorenzo. We need to end this now."

David stepped forward, his eyes burning with resolve. "I'll handle it. I'll find whoever's doing this and make them pay."

I looked at my brothers, my closest allies, and felt the weight of responsibility settle on my shoulders. "No, we handle this together. We'll meet tonight, all of us. Plan our next move carefully."

Dominic nodded, his anger subsiding slightly. "Agreed. We'll bring every resource we have to bear. This ends now."

As they turned to leave, I called out, "And David, keep digging on the spies. We can't afford any more surprises."
