Your body aches, with a particular intensity around your joints and chest. As you move your hands and stretch your arms you feel your body starting to 'wake up' as if you had been stuck in a position and it had fallen asleep. Your brain ached a little as well, but you considered it a minor feeling compared to the ache in your chest. It was like you had been hit with a wall and it gave you concern. You opened your eyes slowly, the light seeming bright and clinical as you look about the room you are in. Dark gray metal walls surround you, with one light overhead. There is a doorway with a curtain of red light across it which you know to be a ray shield from your previous experience with them.
You are still in your armor, but without your helmet and weapons. You begin to think about the room you are in, as if your suddenly remembering what was happening. --I was running from the Empire ... They were shooting at me and Echo ... I got ... electrocuted?--
Your memory seems fuzzy, and anything after the paralyzing shock was blurry or just nothing. You don't remember how you got here, but you remember Echo telling you to run and you remember why you were here- to find Omega-.
You stand up from the wall-cot-bench you were seated on and walked slowly about the room. It was only four paces to the door and perhaps six across. Because of the angle of the doorway it was impossible to see around the corner. There was nothing across from this door, and all you could see was the segment of hallway in front of it.
When you stood near the doorway you could hear the far off echos of people, footsteps or chatter of some kind but nothing distinguishable. You sigh and head back to your bench, combing your fingers through your hair and adjusting your armor. You could feel the burn marks on your shoulder and calf from where the troopers had managed to shoot you and as you had moved about they made their prescience known in wincing pain.
As you sat there, you heard some footsteps approaching and looked up to see three people. A man in a dark gray uniform, and two men in armor one white and one a dark gray almost black.
The darker of the two troopers had very distinct markings on his armor, and was taller then both men. No doubt he looked taller not only from his stature but also from his slender build. The other in white was shorter, closer to the officers height and much more filled out. The officer smiled maliciously "It looks like our sleeping captive has finally woken up."
You held onto his eye contact, letting your emotional defenses rise and your posture become stiff and guarded. You kept your face as neutral and cold as possible, and your mouth shut.
"You've a pretty face for a mercenary. What are you doing running around with treasonous clones miss?" The officer asked. He was clearly trying a friendly open approach but you could see on his face that wasn't his personality. Honestly, if you had to guess he would make rats look kind. His eyes were dark, almost a grayish color but the red laser door made them have a red reflection in them. He wasn't intimidating, at least not in a respectable way. Veraxsis had been intense, but he wasn't malicious. This man however was a different story and you had a feeling he was hoping he would get to hurt you ... personally.
You remain silent, and the officer continues in his fake-friendly tone "Nothing to say? Lets start with introductions then, shall we"—he gestures to himself, pushing his chest out and raising his head higher "I am Corporal Tiffmer but you may call me Karric, especial if things get more personal. This is ST-5640"-he gestures to the guard in white armor—"and this is CT-9904".
Your face betrays your curiosity at hearing a clone number and the officer smiles again, delighted he got a reaction out of you. "I suspected you would be interested in our trooper, given the company you supposedly keep. Tell me .. darling ... is CT-9904 familiar to you?"
