Author's Note: this takes place a few days after the Animagus side chapter)
A few days After my journey of becoming an Animagus (with the help of Talbott Winger), I was ready to check out Jacob and Raven's hideout. Even if I was currently stuck in Potions Class, trying and failing to mix together an Antidote to common poisons.
“How many mistletoe berries are needed again, Penny? Two or three?” I asked in a lowered voice so as to not get caught by Snape.
“Two.” Penny whispered as I put in the right number of berries and finally stirred the potion.
Just then Snape came over to inspect. “It is acceptable, Cutter.”
I high-fived both Rowan and Penny. “But next time, Ms. Haywood, please let Cutter do it himself.” Snape sneered.
“Yes, Professor.” She said, even if we both knew that wouldn't happen.
After class, we headed towards the old Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. “Well, that was cheerful.” Rowan said sarcastically.
“Thanks for having my back.” I said to Penny.
“No problem, Lucas. I'm always happy to help.” She blushed, and Rowan could tell that I was also blushing as the three of us reached the door
“Great, it's locked.” I groaned as I tried to open the door.
“No problem.” Rowan said, taking out his wand; “Alohomora.” but it didn't Budge. “Well, worth a try.”
“Wait, look at this.” Penny quickly said as we noticed a dual key lock on the door.
“Raven's doing.” I smiled, “clever woman.”
“You have the keys, right?” Rowan asked.
“One of them, But yes.” I answered as I pulled out the key from my pocket. “I found it In a little pocket of Jacob's journal.”
“Well, that's convenient.” Penny giggled.
I bent down and fiddled with a loose stone tile. “And there should be one…damn it, it's not there.” I sighed as I put the loose stone tile back in its place.
“How did you think it would be there?” Rowan asked.
“Jacob was always creative with hiding treasure.” I answered.
“Ah.” Rowan said.
“I think I know who took the other key though.” I said.
“Let me guess. Merula?” Penny smirked.
“How’d you know I would say that?” I asked, chuckling.
“Just a hunch. Plus she hates you.” Penny shrugged.
Fair enough.” I answered.
“This is bad.” Rowan said.
“I think I might know someone who can help us.” Penny inquired.
“Who are you thinking about? Tonks?” I asked.
“Oh she would be perfect, but she's got detention in the kitchens with Jae. Remember when they accidentally released those magical creatures from the reserve?” Rowan asked.
“Yeah. Kettleburn and I had to help them.” I answered, my arm still a bit sore from a griffin that ran me over.
“Tulip, Tonks’ partner in mischief, is in the Transfiguration classroom at the moment, I was thinking we could ask her.” Penny suggested.
“That's perfect.” I smiled as the three of us started walking out of the corridor towards the Transfiguration classroom.
"So, Lucas," Rowan began, "What was Jacob like when you two were growing up?"
