After weeks of searching for my creature, here he stands before me. Not a creature though, a Nereid he says. An alien.
Looking at him, it makes sense. He is otherworldly. Especially when that bulbous membrane falls around his shoulders like a collar. It entices me so much, my body takes control and I move forward, reaching my hands up to touch the fins on the side of his face.
He is more humanoid under that bulb. A round head. Two large, elongated blue eyes with a horizontal pupil sit on either side of a flat nose. They remind me a lot of an octopus eye. Except his eyes match his blue and translucent skin.
He has full lips like a human. But when his eyes close under my touch, his lips part and I see razor sharp teeth. I pause in my touch, startled by those teeth. But the fact that he's been more interested in eating me out than actually eating me, I relax. I wonder what my alien's name is, "So, what do I call you?"
My alien, and he is mine. After weeks of searching for him and realizing he must have been watching me to save me from the lump of human man on the deck, I can happily say that he is definitely mine. But I don't know anything about him.
He opens his large eyes, "I am called Archon Lycos. You may call me Lycos."
I take a step back and hold out my hand for a handshake. Which seems silly since I've had this guy's tentacles all over me. Do I want to jump this alien's bones again? Hell yeah I do. But I also want to make a good impression, "I'm Fiona Crane. It's good to finally meet you." Lycos tilts his head to the side and blinks. I laugh, "You're supposed to shake my hand. It's a human greeting."
He takes my hand but doesn't shake it. He brings my hand to his mouth where he kisses my hand. All the while those tentacles at his chin reach up and curl around my wrist and arm, "You are delectable my mate."
Heat warms my cheeks, "Your mate? What–"
I am cut off by groaning. Foster begins moving on the deck.
Lycos's attention on me jerks to Foster, "I must dispose of this jetsam. Do your kind incinerate your trash? Or bury it?" He looks at me and I stammer. He garbles a sound that makes me think he is laughing, "Let us leave this scum on the shore." Then seriously, he turns and takes both of my hands, "I have an obligation I must tend to, Fiona. Will you come with me?"
I don't even need to think about it. The answer is obvious. Afterall, it's what I sought out to do. Find him. Even still, butterflies in my stomach flutter with abandon, "Yes."
We take Foster to the shore and leave him there where he will hopefully wake up confused and frustrated. Then Lycos takes my ship and sails it in the direction of his obligation.
It takes a couple weeks to reach the destination. Most of the time he has spent getting to know me. And I have to say it feels pretty good.
When I decided to pursue this creature, I did it fully accepting that I wouldn't be able to communicate with him. This pull I have toward him is that strong. And the fact that he has been patient with me makes me feel safe enough to admit it.
The only problem is, I'm getting impatient. Aside from kissing my hand that one time, he hasn't made another move. And he also won't tell me anything about this obligation. And he hasn't really told me much about himself. I am beginning to wonder what exactly he wants from me.
I can no longer take not knowing. After Lycos gets back from catching us dinner, I prepare it, and we sit and eat fish tacos, "Lycos, why did you need to come here? I need to know."
I have asked a few times already. Each time he gazes into my eyes, like he is right now, and then avoids the question. But this time he looks away into the sun set and says, "On my planet, we house many terrestrial criminals. My planet is a water planet, much like yours. Earth has slightly more land than Nymeria. And most of our land are island chains like here." He looks at me, "I am here investigating possible prisons for the threat against your planet."
I blink.
Of all the things I expected, I couldn't have even guessed. He gives me a moment before taking my hands in his and continuing, "It is not confirmed by the intergalactic organization I work for. But one of my colleagues has reason to believe that there are aliens who wish to take Earth for their new base of operations." His fingers play with my own. A comfort grounding me from this news, "And take human females to create their army."
"I don't understand. Why can't they use their own people to take over? Why come here at all?" I ask, dread building despite Lycos's comforting touch.
Lycos nods, "These aliens are rumored to have nearly gone extinct. Their religious views doomed them and they destroyed their planet. So it was decreed long ago by their priests that they spread far and wide, integrating into other societies. On other planets. We do not know their intentions as we do not have much intelligence regarding this species. What we do know is that their ability to blend in with other aliens is legendary."
"But that still doesn't explain why they would come to Earth." I look up at the night sky.
Lycos takes a deep breath, "It is rumored that human females can procreate across species." My gaze jerks to him, "We have not confirmed this. But you must understand that there are only hundreds of known carbon based species in this quadrant of the universe. And most of them have mate bonds. Mate bonds are required for reproduction in most species. The fact that human females are able to create life with whoever they wish is...a miracle."
"Is that why you approached me that day? On the beach?" I have to ask.
He gets to his knees and brings my head into his hands so that I have to look directly at him, "You are a gift from Nymeria. I never believed I would be blessed with a mate until I scented you on the shore. And once I saw you laying there, the sun touching your skin, I had to taste you. Forgive me, my mate." He pulls me to him, crushing my head to his chest. His lips kiss the top of my head and his tentacles wiggle around my shoulders, "I should not have approached you. It is against intergalactic law. But I find I am weak when it comes to you."
I blush and wrap my arms around him, "I am glad you did." He pulls back to stare down at me, "I never want to leave you."
Lycos makes a sound in his chest that sounds like a pleased purr.
"And I think I have been patient." I say coyly.
He tilts his head to the side, "What do you mean?"
The tips of my fingers caress the smooth plains of his blue chest, "You may have approached me on the beach that day but I encouraged you. And I want more. I've wanted more of you since you left me. I came in search of you. I need you."
My words and tone turn desperate. But they're true. Even now I ache for him and I can't say I'm very surprised by the wetness soaking my thighs.
Lycos growls deep in his chest, "Come here then my mate, so that I may taste you."
He doesn't use his tongue to taste me though. His tentacles work their way over my skin, "What about your tongue?" I ask breathlessly.
"My tentacles taste much better than my tongue, my sweet." I moan when one tentacle works its way under my sundress. It slicks across my skin and finds my nipple and I can't help but moan even louder. "As I said before, delectable."
I shiver at his words, the ache between my legs becomes insistent. My clit throbs and I want to beg at this point.
I am relieved when Lycos picks me up and walks toward the cabin, "Come my make so that I can ravish you in private."
Oh thank Cthulhu! I can't wait.
