Janet"Do you know why I pulled you over today" he spoke breaking our silence after waisting time staring at me. It was like he got off, just watching me grow uncomfortable.
My eyes looked him up, and down in disgust. "Because you have nothing better to do with your time, officer" I put enthuses on officer with a sarcastic ditsy tone.
He smiled with a flabbergasted approach like he didn't expect me to say something smart. "Janet" he managed to speak my name through his chuckle. "You know better than to talk to Daddy like that" he narrowed his stare.
I scoffed with my eyes rolled up my head. "Why did you pull me over David, I'm running late for work" I whined leaning back into my leather seat.
He licked his lips out of frustration bringing his bottom lip between his teeth. "Janet, let's start this over okay. I'm the wrong one to piss off sweetie, I know where you live, what time you leave for work, what time you come home, I know your favorite route to work, I even know your favorite coffee order" as he spoke to me I felt a thrilling chill up my spine. "So I'll start, do you know why I pulled you over today?"
He leaned into the car with his arms in my window. I gulped and closed my eyes briefly before playing nice. "No officer, why is it that you pulled me over?"
His smile seeped through his straight face in front of me. I watched as his laugh took over him. "That was good J, you should be an actress" he laughed humorously. "Call your job and tell em you're gone be late" he said direct with a straight face.
I raised my brows looking at him stunned. "Do it" he said stern.
At first I hesitated but I grabbed my purse from the passenger seat. My heart trembled at a fast rapid pace in my chest. I could hear the beat in my ears, it was so loud as I held the phone and dialed Tasha's number. The phone ranged in my ear, the longer it rang the more my fear lingered.
"Pick up, pick up" I whispered
"Hello" hearing her voice was surreal. My mouth gapped with a slight curve. "Janet?"
"Hey, hey" I glanced at David before briefly looking away again. "I'm gonna be late today, can you tell principa—"
"Janet" she whined my name sharply. "You've been running late lately. Are you waking up late?"
"Tell her you've been a bad girl and the laws about to punish you" David's finger poked my shoulder.
I rolled my eyes shaking my head no aggressively. "I'll..." I took a deep breath closing my eyes. My emotions sat in the back of my throat, I swallowed it feeling David nudge my shoulder. "I'll see you later bye" I mumbled urgent.
"J, are you okay?" I hung up on her and darted my narrowed eyes at his face.
The corners of his mouth curved looking at me. I couldn't stand to look at his smirk any longer. "Are you happy now" I roared.
"I'd be happy if you stepped out the car"
"Stepped out for what" I whined raising my tone.
"Janet" he raised his brows tauntingly.
I remembered in that moment he wasn't just my ex but he was also the law. "Fine" I said. On the way out of the car I slammed the door. He laughed watching me grow frustrated.
"Did I ever tell you, you were cute when your upset"
I was between the car and David's towering presence, he got closer by the moment. My back was against the car, unfortunately I could not go any further. I could barely feel him, his body grazed mine. "What do you want from me" I questioned with my face, facing his chest I lifted my eyes above to look at him in fear.
