Chapter 3:
FLASHBACK:
As a 12 year old kid. Esther was just doing some things typical for any kids her age do back when there was no social media. Playing with her dolls and writing stories...
Okay, its not typical more like unusual for her age. In fact her parents told her that neither her cousins nor any kids her age were playing dolls under the age 12, because she's going to be a teen soon. Another strange thing for her age, she's been writing stories. Which is something unusual, cause kids usually write for school not because they themselves wanted to. But its what Esther enjoyed.
She just have nothing else to do. Because when she spends time with people, she cant seem to blend in with them. This is just her only place to escape and that is her writings and even her art, cause it's the only place where she's in control. Where she has true friends who truly cares for her. So her friends in real life can disappoint her, but at least she has fictional characters to have fun with. It made her feel less lonely.
Until one day, someone calls at her gate. She was a bit scared because she's by herself and she herself is too shy to meet with new people.
But when she answered, she find out that they were Baptist Christians.
As a kid of course she's too innocent to think they're bias or fake religion. But as a kid, Esther has always known about God and Jesus. She remembered her grandfather and relatives have always go to church, teaching her to be nice or else God would be angry, and she knows that He's the Creator, the King and her Father. Even she's scared to think bad thoughts when the moment she knows that even God can read her mind. So yeah, she believed in God
Which is why she's very open when people mention or talk about Him. He was her priority because she view Him as a her King and Father.
But little did she know. It's what changes her life forever. She thought that meeting was only a one time thing. But it turns out this women wanted her to do Bible study with her this Saturday. When she thought it was just a one time thing, it became a weekly thing for them.
At first Esther was really angry at it. She already hates school assignment and this women keep asking her to do devotions and reading the entire book of Proverbs.
But...
She's also happy... odd.
She remember being so angry whenever she calls her from the gate every Saturday when she just want her entire weekend to herself.
But oddly every Bible study. She's always angry at the start, but as they're having their Bible study, her heart feels lighter and joy. Like there's something about this women that her very presence has some sort of healing, peaceful and joyful energy whenever she's around. That even after their Bible study, she ended up wanting to know more about God through reading and just speaking to Him through prayers.
She even learn more about Jesus and salvation
(Mention about her church and the strange rules. About how sad and left out she was. A little sad that her family was not with her)
Though they do have strange rules though such as they were told that girls should only wear skirt, because they should all dress up according to their gender. They shouldn't drink wine, because it is written in the Bible to not be drunk by wine but with the Holy Spirit. Also warning her to watch which friends she should hang out with, because bad company corrupts good morals. Which she also think it's true. Its because kids were peer pressured to drink many wine, smoke and even to party in immoral place. Though is really no big deal for her.
