*ARIV*

"It was all your fault you pulled that uncle's trousers, and now we're here locked behind bars!" she yelled.

I sighed, already frustrated by this pudgy traffic cop's behaviour, and now this human trouble beside me constantly lecturing, which I was trying my best to ignore.

"Hey, hey, can't you hear? I'm speak-"

"Enough is enough now," I finally blasted, making her shut her mouth immediately.

"First that Atharv's crocodile-faced, lizard-sticking girlfriend who dragged me to her dollhouse kinda home, then his tubby police father who knows nothing but dancing weird signs and wearing Barbie underpants, and now you, a walking, talking disaster, lecturing me like if you can control me," I finally said, anger at my peak.

She was speechless, and I could see her brain cells working overtime to process the verbal smackdown I just delivered.

I sighed. After a moment of silence, I heard a cop unlocking our cell bars. I looked up to see Atharv standing behind the cop. Ah, my best friend, here to save the day. The cop finally opened the door, and Reet and I stepped out with jolly faces.

"He he, my bro-" I tried to give him a high five, but he greeted me with his eyes bulging and flaming lectures instead.

"What the heck was that Ariv!? How can you literally pull someone's pants down in public, and that too of an officer's!?" he yelled, eyes practically popping out.

"Calm down, man. The zip was already struggling to stay up. Even without my help, that zip would've eventually given up due to the immense pressure it was experiencing due to uncle's pillow-like belly," I said calmly, completely unbothered.

He shook his head in defeat. "I don't know what to do with you, man. God, please pick me up," he muttered, head in his hands. "Literally, just because of you, Kiara broke up with me."

"Oh, so she was Kiara? You really have a very unique taste of exploring species from the National Geographic kingdom."

"Shut up! Just because of you-"

"You couldn't follow through with your grand plan, right?" I interrupted, rolling my eyes. "And if say more clearly you couldn't have sex with her"

"You're nothing but a trouble creator. I had to pay a fortune amount to get you out of jail, and instead of feeling remorse, you're acting like nothing happened!"

"Oh, don't say that. I offered you a high five-"

"Enough! I'm leaving now. Stay here and finish your Barbie date with that pookie officer. And return when you're done making a new problem," he snapped, turning on his heel and storming out of the police station in frustration.

Ah, he's really angry this time. But no problem. He'll get calmed down soon.

I turned back too, but before I could see anything, a petite figure pressed against me, hugging me like if I was a giant panda gifted to a small 5-year-old girl. She clung to me like her life depended on it, and that very moment was enough for me to lose all sense and become totally paralyzed.

When she finally let go, it felt like my soul had left my body.

"You're so amazing! Thank you so much!" she said, overjoyed. I had no clue why she was thanking me.

"What do you mean?" I asked, perplexed.

"You did this all, right? Just to make him break up with his new girlfriend?" she said, smiling ear to ear.

Then the realization hit me. Ahhh, I had promised her that Atharv would break up with his girlfriend, but I hadn't meant it seriously. I just said it to calm things down at the moment.
