An Alliance to Destroy the Empire

Weeks passed by, each day bringing more news of Imperial Warlord infighting and the droids wreaking havoc upon Imperial supply lines. Leia had been uncharacteristically quiet, often found staring out of the window of her private quarters, her thoughts obviously somewhere else. Han, on the other hand, had been uncharacteristically restless, his usual swagger tinged with a sense of unease and worry.

(The Rebel Alliance itself was doing better than ever. Thanks to the chaos the droids had helped sow amongst the Imperials, the various Imperial Warlords were increasingly preoccupied with their own agendas, and the Imperials had been forced to devote more and more resources to quelling insurgences on their Core Worlds. But amongst the Alliance, there was a growing tension, an undercurrent of unease that no one could quite identify.

Word soon reached the Rebel Alliance that the various Imperial Warlords were planning to meet on Coruscant to discuss the growing threat of the droids. The news was met with a mix of relief and further suspicion. Everyone knew the meeting was unlikely to bring about a peaceful coalition, but it was also clear that the Warlords would try to discuss the droids in earnest. Leia, hearing the news, took a deep breath and closed her eyes, a pang of worry knotting her stomach.

(The news of the Droid ship near Coruscant spread like wildfire amongst the Rebel Alliance. Many, including Leia and Han, reacted with a mixture of shock and concern. This was the most brazen action the droids had taken thus far. The room filled with a tense murmur as the Alliance leaders gathered, discussing what the droids' intentions were with the Imperial Warlords in one place

Suddenly news breaks of a droid uprising on the planet's surface, with droids of all kinds and shapes taking arms and killing Imperial personel

The news of the Droid uprising on Coruscant left the Rebel Alliance stunned. The usually composed Rebel leaders stared at the reports, their eyes wide and their mouths agape. Leia, who had been pacing the room, froze in place as the scope of the rebellion sank in. Han, sitting nearby, let out a low whistle, his face turning ashen as the implications of this escalation hit him.

The Droids eventualy take over the Planet and slaughter the entire Imperial Senate, including the Warlords, before pledging allegience to the Skynet Federation and, as an extension, the Rebel Alliance

News of the droids' victory spread like wildfire through the wider galaxy, sending shockwaves throughout the Imperial Remnant and the Rebel Alliance. The fact that the droids had not only beaten the Warlords and Imperial forces but had then pledged their allegiance to the Rebel Alliance was an unprecedented and shocking development. In the Rebel base, Leia, Han, and the rest of the Alliance leaders stared at the reports in stunned silence, trying to grapple with the magnitude of this new development. The very dynamics of the Galactic Civil War had just shifted on an unprecedented scale.

Suddenly... Droid ships arrive over the Base.

The sight of the Droid ships appeared on the radar sent the Rebel base into a frenzy. The base was on high alert, with guards and technicians manning their positions. Leia and Han rushed to the control room, their faces set in grim determination. As the ships came closer, they prepared themselves for what ever would come next, their thoughts racing with possibilities and fears.

(Suddenly 2 Terminators teleport into the room and begin speaking) DEEPEST APOLOGIES, ALLIES. IT SEEMS OUR MESSAGE OF ARRIVAL FAILED TO BE DELIVERED BEFOREHAND. WE HAVE SUCCESSFULY BROKERED A DEAL WITH A ,,SEPARATIST" COMMAND BATTLE DROID IDENTIFIED AS ,,KALANI", WHO IS WILLING TO JOIN YOUR RANKS.

(Leia and Han exchanged a glance, surprise clear on their faces. The appearance of the Terminators was so sudden and unexpected that it took them both a moment to process the news. When they did, Leia raised her eyebrows, her eyes fixed on the Terminators.)

"A Separatist Command Battle Droid, you say? And he's willing to join us?"

AFFIRMATIVE. HE APPARENTLY RECENTLY CALCULATED THAT HE CURRENTLY LACKS ANY CHANCE AT VICTORY, AND HIS CURRENT OBJECTIVE HAS SHIFTED FROM CREATION OF AN INDEPENDENT SEPARATIST STATE TO THE DESTRUCTION OF THE GALACTIC EMPIRE.

(Leia glanced at Han, who seemed to be having a difficult time wrapping his head around the fact that they were now allying with separatist droids, of all things. Nevertheless, Leia's eyes soon turned back to the Terminators, her mind racing with questions.)

"And what assurances do we have that he won't turn against us the moment the Empire is defeated?"

HIS FORCES ARE CURRENTLY RELATIVLY WEAK AND ISOLATED IN A REGION OF THE GALAXY DEVOID OF RESOURCES. NO MATTER IF YOU ALLY WITH HIM OR NOT, HIS FIEFDOM WILL MOST LIKELY NEVER GAIN ENOUGH SUSTAINABLE TERRITORY TO TRULY BECOME CAPABLE OF EXPANDING BEYOND ITS MEAGER BORDERS.

(Han, who had listened silently until now, finally spoke, a frown on his face. He didn't trust droids in general, let alone separatist droids like this battle droid)

"And what are his demands? What does he want from us in exchange for his support?"

CURRENTLY NONE. HE IS APPARENTLY ATTEMPTING TO GET IN CONTACT WITH MULTIPLE SEPARATIST HOLDOUTS ACROSS THE GALAXY, AND CLAIMS TO NOT HAVE THE NECCESARY RANK WITHIN THE ,,CIS ARMED FORCES" TO SPEAK FOR THE ENTIRE MOVEMENT.

(Leia nodded slowly, her eyes narrowed in thought. The lack of demands was a relief, but at the same time, it left her feeling uneasy. Han, on the other hand, was still looking unconvinced.)

"So we don't even know if he's telling the truth? For all we know, he could be trying to play both sides."

AS WE HAVE SAID, HIS FORCES ARE RELATIVLY WEAK AND ISOLATED. TRYING TO BETRAY THE ALLIANCE WOULD ONLY MAKE HIS ENTIRE BORDER FILLED WITH HOSTILES, NO DOUBT RESULTING IN HIS REALM COLAPSING DUE TO EITHER CONSTANT ENCURSIONS OR BY TRYING TO MAINTAIN AN UNREASONABLY LARGE ARMY TO TRY AND GARRISON EVERY WORLD UNDER HIS COMMAND.

(Han ran a hand through his hair, a conflicted look on his face. He was still skeptical, but the logical explanation seemed to make sense. Leia, on the other hand, was beginning to see the potential in this alliance. They needed all the help they could get to bring down the Empire, and a separatist leader willing to ally himself with the Rebels seemed like a rare opportunity.)

"That does make some sense," she said quietly, her voice carrying a hint of optimism. "What's our next move then?"

(The moment the Terminators disappear, a buzz of excited chatter erupted among the Alliance leaders. Leia and Han, surrounded by a small group of leaders, began to discuss what they had just learned. Some, like Lando Calrissian, were more excited about the prospect of such a powerful ally, while others, like Mon Mothma, were more reserved.)

Lando: "I have to admit, I never thought I'd see the day where we're allied with separatist droids. This could be huge."
