The plane descends, shaking me from my sleep. I pull out my headphones, realizing my phone is dead. I glance to my left at Mr. Kirk, a smile on his face as he stares past me. I look to my right to notice the curtain to the window had been opened. My heart skips a beat as I watch the ground grow closer, the know in my stomach growing more.
I sigh, standing along with the rest of the passengers. Mr. Kirk takes my bag for me before leading me off of the plane. I shyly follow, unsure of what to expect. I was surprised that I slept through the entire flight. Now, I have to survive everything else. Especially Sean.
Mr. Kirk goes to grab my suitcase, leaving me to stand awkwardly in the pool of strangers. My eyes scan the crowd for the familiar face. I can't help but to smile as I spot Sean with a makeshift sign, my name written in green paint. I slowly make my way towards him, terrified of what he might say.
"Dixie?" Sean yells, a huge smile spreading across his face. I nod slowly, afraid to look him in the eyes. He pulls me into a tight hug before releasing me, only to grab my hand. He pulls me towards the exit, not even caring if Mr. Kirk is following or not.
"I can't wait to show you everything. First, I want you to know that you'll have to help me out sometimes. Second, you will be staying in my apartment with me. You can have my bed and I'll sleep on the couch," he laughs, pulling me towards a car. He opens the door, practically shoving me into the passenger seat. He runs around the car before hopping in the drivers side. Mr. Kirk places my things in the trunk before waving at us.
"Thanks Howard," Sean yells out my open window, waving to Mr. Kirk. I smile slightly, suddenly happy to know his first name. The smile soon fades away as I realize that he wasn't coming with us, and that I'm now alone in a small vehicle with the man of my dreams. I face the window, taking deep breaths to calm myself down.
"Isn't this wonderful?" Sean questions, a huge smile on his face. "You must be happy to finally be somewhere new and off of the plane." I nod slowly, enjoying the fact that I won't have to talk much since he seems to enjoy talking. I close my eyes and enjoy the feeling of the wind whipping my hair around as Sean drives to his place, his loud voice echoing around me.
