# 09, through her window

KIMI SIGHED IN frustration as he let his phone slip out of his grip and bounce onto the bed. It seemed that his friends had cared enough to set him up with someone, yet not allow him to get her number. He stared blankly at his dark phone screen, going into 'Kimi analysis mode'.
He contemplated his decisions carefully. He desperately wanted to get ahold of her, to just talk to her, even if it was just for a minute. Of course, he had the option to just walk over to her house, since he had embarrassingly memorized the way, but he wondered if that was too much. As his mind brimmed up with a myriad of thoughts and feelings, he found it difficult to focus on just one thing. Deciding to delay no more, he decided to do the one reasonable thing he could think of.
Grabbing his coat and slipping on his shoes, he rushed out of his bedroom down to the front door and eventually left his house. He made sure to text his mum before he left, so she'd know where he went if she woke up in the middle of the night. As he walked he wondered back to why he was doing all this. Why he would go out of his way just to even catch a glimpse of her; why he felt so empty without her presence, even if they had just met no more than a week ago.
He shoved his hands into the pocket of his jacket, his hair flying around in the cold wind. Though the day remained hot and sunny, nights proved to be chilly with hard, cold winds blowing continuously. Soon, he found himself nearing the path of her neighborhood and eventually, he found himself outside her front door.
He held his hand up in a fist to knock on the door, but stopped himself before he could do so. He checked the time on his phone. 10 p.m. What would her mother think about this? He shook off the thought, deciding to use a different approach. He walked around the perimeter of her house, finally spotting the perfect opportunity. Grabbing a small stone he found in the garden, he aimed it right at the girls window, watching as it bounced off the glass surface and dropping back down to his feet.
A few seconds later, he saw a familiar head of blonde hair approaching the window, turning the lock to open it when she spotted his face.
"What are you doing here?" she hissed softly, but loudly enough for him to hear.
"Hi," he grinned childishly, with his hands stuffed in his pockets. "I want to talk to you."
"Ever heard of texting?" she sarcastically responded, he shrugged his shoulders.
"What fun is that?"
"You are not climbing up my window." she warned him.
"I wasn't planning to. Open the door for me?" he asked.
"Okay. Meet me by the front." she instructed as she shut her window close. He walked back up to the front door, just in time as she opened the door.
"You could've just rang the doorbell, you know," she said as she let him in.
"I didn't want to disturb your family," he reasoned. She nodded in understanding.
"Mum's not home yet, so you would've been fine."
"Well, that would've ruined the fun, wouldn't it?"
"If you say so," she rolled her eyes, shutting the door behind them. He kicked off his shoes, then placing them neatly by her door. "So... you want anything to eat?"
"It's ten at night?" he questioned her question.
"So?" she looked at him weirdly at his response.
"No, I'm fine." he replied, deciding not to question her any further, for his own sake.
