"Welcome home babe, how was work?" I said as I kissed Joy's cheek. "It was the same but one of my coworkers handed out cookies which was pretty sweet. What about you? Did the students give you a hard time?" Joy asked as she took off her shoes and we both walked into the living room.

"For some reason, they would not listen today and I had to tell almost ten students to stop eating their crayons. They're preschoolers though so I won't hold it against them," I replied and the older chuckled and ruffled the top of my head before we started making dinner.

"Woah we did well on dinner today which makes me excited for tomorrow," I spoke as I brought the chopsticks to my mouth. "Why are you excited for tomorrow?" Joy asked which led me to pause before continuing to eat. "Oh, it's nothing," I responded, plastering a smile.

After we finished dinner we got ready for bed like we usually do but I could not stop thinking about what Joy said. She was normally really good with dates which made me wonder why she didn't remember what tomorrow was. I decided to try and let it go before snuggling closer to her in bed.

When I woke up I was surprised to see Joy not next to me because she normally didn't work on Saturdays. I then checked my phone to see that she texted me saying her boss had called her in for work. I sighed and checked the group chat with all of my best friends to see if they remembered but nothing had been said.

They're probably busy I thought before going to make myself a bowl of cereal. To pass the time I decided to watch some K-dramas but when that didn't work I went on Tiktok. Going on TikTok luckily made the time go by faster but not fast enough because when I got off of TikTok it was only 1:00 PM and Joy still wasn't home yet.

I was about to find something else to do before I heard the door open which made me jump out of my chair. "Joy?" I yelled. I then walked into the living room to see Joy taking off her jacket. "Hey, Yeri sorry I had to leave but I'm here now. Do you wanna just chill and watch some movies?" Joy answered.

"A- are you forgetting something?" I stuttered. "Huh?" Was all Joy said and I told her that it was nothing.

We both then settled down on the couch and Joy allowed me to pick a random movie. I wasn't necessarily in the mood to watch a movie so I just picked the first one I saw with a cute cover.

It was the middle of the movie and I was beginning to space out until in one of the scenes it was the main character's birthday. For some dumb reason seeing a fake character having a better birthday than me and having people to wish her well made me upset.

I then quickly excused myself to go to the bathroom so Joy wouldn't notice before breaking down. Maybe I was being a baby but for some reason, I couldn't control my tears or breathing.

I don't know how much time had passed but I soon heard a soft knock between my sobs.

"Yeri, are you okay? Can I come in?" The older asked. I tried my best to respond but my labored breathing only allowed me to get out a whisper of yes. Joy then walked in and I tried my best to calm down but the tears kept flowing and I couldn't seem to stop.

Joy started rubbing my back in soothing circles before instructing me to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth with her. I followed her instructions as best I could and I could feel my breathing slow down. "Sorry I was just being d- dramatic," I mumbled, ashamed of my childish meltdown.

"Can you tell me what made you upset?" The older said soothingly while rubbing my back. "It's like no one remembered my birthday not even my best friends...or you," I hesitated. "Oh, Yeri..." Joy spoke before getting cut off by a notification on her phone.

"I have a surprise for you. Come on let's go get ready, okay?" Joy stated and I nodded while she took my hand and led me to our closet. We then both got dressed (Joy suggested that I wear something fancy casual) before heading to the car with the other.

"Are you going to tell me where we're going yet?" I asked for the millionth time. "Nope, you will have to see when we get there," Joy answered. "Fine," I huffed before looking at the scenery outside.

The car then came to a stop and when I looked up I saw, "Oh my god is this the Hello Kitty Cafe I've been talking about wanting to go to!!!" I squealed. "Yup," the taller responded with a smirk on her face. "I love you so, so, so much thank you!" I said before kissing her.

"You should use that lip balm more. You taste like cherries, I like that," Joy expressed which made me hide my face with my hands. "What's wrong princess?" The older said as she peeled my hands away from my face.

"W-why are you being so flirty today...let's just go," I stuttered as I hopped out of the car which earned me a chuckle from the other. Joy then joined me and connected our hands before we entered the cafe.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a big "surprise!" from all my friends and family which left me shocked. "Y- you rented the entire place out?!" I said not being able to believe my eyes. "Yup! It was a little costly but everyone chipped in and made it possible," Joy answered, and before she could say anything else I engulfed her in a big hug. I also gave her a quick peck on the lips and then went to join everyone at the tables.

All the food they had brought out for everyone to try had been so cute and not only cute but tasted good too! "You outdid yourself," I said with a mouth full of food. "Finish your food first before you choke," Joy chuckled. I then finished my plate of Hello Kitty dumplings but before I could react Joy pulled me in for a kiss.

"What was that for?" I asked as I felt my face heating up. "You're just too pretty for this world I couldn't help myself," Joy smirked which left me a blushing mess.

I'm writing this while on a road trip because I'm bored lmao but I'm happy I got to write my girls Joyri. Yeri is my bias from Red Velvet and I just love her sm 🤭
