Aashvi pov

I woke up to my alarm blaring near my ears, god my poor ears. i groaned and switched off my alarm. I got up, stretched my body and saw the time is 8, wow i must have snoozed the alarm in sleep, usually my alarm rings at 6. I looked at maya sleeping peacefully with an eye mask and ear buds , i went to her "maya get up, its 8 already. We have to go" i shook her body and she got up.

"Do you want me to use the bathroom first or are you gonna go?" "You go". "Alright, I'm gonna use the bathroom, ill come and wake you up again" she just gave a thumb up.

As aashvi went to the bath her phone rang, maya looked at it and let the phone rang. After 3 missed calls the phone rang for the fourth time, maya called out to aashvi as her the phone ringing is irritating her. "Aashu, your phone is ringing non-stop" "Who is it?" "I don't know" "Please pick it up tell them i will call them later" "Okay".

Maya took aashvi phone and saw it is her father calling, she picked up the call and talked for a few minutes and hung up telling her father that aashvi will call him later.

As aashvi came out she saw maya sitting and staring at her. "Why are looking at me like that" "oh my god don't look at me like that, its creeping me". "When is your sister marriage aashu". Hearing that question from maya she stilled "Why?" "Your father called". she continued "He told me today is the marriage and he is trying to call you from the past week. Also he wanted you  at the marriage as soon as possible that is going to happen today".

"Why did you do that aashu" "Nothing, lets go and get ready, we have to go". Maya stared at her for sometime and nodded her head and went to get ready. They got ready and started their journey to her hometown to her sister marriage.

Aashvi pov

Shit! I didn't think maya would know about about the marriage date. when she asked why we have to go to my home i just simply said its my sister marriage, till now she thought the preparations were going on and  I let her think that. I don't want to tell her that we are directly going to the day the marriage is going to happen, so when my dad called i didn't think that she will know.

Its not like i don't want to tell her, its just that i don't want her to know how bad my relationship with my family is. She came from a good family where her parents loved her and can do anything for her. I don't want her to pity me because of the poor relationship between me and my family.

"Wow aashu, your house is so beautiful". I came out of my thoughts listening to maya's word. "yeah". Only if she knows that the house is only beautiful not the people in that.

We entered my father's mansion. We got off our car, and went into the house through the front door. As soon as we entered my dad came infront of us.

"You finally decided to show up. I asked you to come earlier".

"I had other things to do and to take care of".

"Always an excuse with you. Your sister needed you".

"Funny, you never cared if I needed anyone". "And don't start with this sister needed you bullshit. You and i both know that we never needed each other, especially your second wife and daughter".

"That's not fair. I tried my best". As soon as that sentence was out of his mouth his eyes got softer as he gazed her daughter, as if he is reminiscing something.

"Your best? Ignoring me, never listening to what i wanted? Did you even asked me what I wanted?"

"You never made it easy, always rebellious, always pushing me back when i wanted to talk to you".

"Maybe if you have tried to understand me and came back to me even when I pushed you back, things would have been different".

"I just wanted what was best for you"

"You wanted what was best for you, not for me"

"I see you're still holding to the past and i tried okay". "Anyways this is your sisters marriage day, can we just focus on her?".

"Ofcourse"

Aashvi just gave her father a tight lipped smile and went to their assigned room with maya.

"Sorry you had to see that". Aashvi apologized to maya as soon as they came to their room.

"Its okay, don't worry about it"

They just smiled at each other and went to freshen up. Maya who has seen the whole argument downstairs between the daughter and the father one thing she noticed is that their relationship seems complicated.

Even though maya has so many questions to ask, she choose not ask any of them after the whole odereal happened downstairs. 'Maybe they had some complicated relationship' is what she thought and went to freshen up and get ready for the marriage.

AASHVI POV

Tried his best, what did he do, where was he when I went to the hostel leaving everyone behind. Leaving the only family i got. And what did i do? I pretended everything was fine. I pretended i was fine when he's never been there for me. Maybe i would even be fine if he was even present physically because emotionally, he might as well have been a ghost.

I wrote him a letter when i was in collage that there is a fest and i am participating in it and that i wanted him to be there, the letter was received and he did not come and did not write me a letter back that he was not coming. atleast i would have been happy if he wrote a letter back to me that he is not coming or he is busy to attend, but no there was no response from him.

That's when i decided that he won't be there for me and from there i distanced myself more from him.

After we got ready we went downstairs to have some lunch. "I'm so hungry" "Hm me too, we didn't eat anything except some coffee and tea". "Why you dint like coffee, you know you are the first person i am seeing that didn't like coffee" "I don't know i just don't like coffee and i don't even like the coffee smell" "You are weird". I just shrugged my shoulders. Don't get me wrong there is no hate for people who likes coffee, just don't force me to drink it.  I just don't like coffee and even the smell of coffee makes me nauseous.

After we had our lunch maya wanted to see the house and the decorations going on so we were just roaming around the house. After roaming all around the house we sat at the backyard where the marriage is taking place.

I saw a guard standing there with the gun. Mmm, gun. I love guns and the weight of them in my hands. Don't judge me, i am not crazy and i haven't killed anyone. I swear.

"Are you sure you are not a psychopath"

Excuse ME what.
