In a world where humans and monsters live together, but not peacefully. The was a boy born unto a young woman and her boyfriend. The boy had grown up to have long brown hair and deep, emerald eyes. He loved to read about different kinds of monsters when he was bored. Which in turn made him always want to meet them all.

I was woken up by my dog, Lucy, jumping on me so I get her some food. I groaned and pushed her away from my face so I could get up. As I got up I set Lucy on the floor. I decided to take a quick shower before getting my work clothes on.

When I finished getting dressed I walked to the kitchen to find Lucy standing by her food bowl. I grabbed her food from the cabinet and poured it into her bowl, "There you go, Rat. Enjoy!" As she started eating I left for work.

~TIME SKIP~

As I walked into my office I noticed a large stack of papers that I assumed was my work for today. I took my seat and turned on my computer, reading emails and checking over the papers. I got almost halfway through the stack when my coworker walked in with a folder.

The women walked to my desk and sat down in a chair that was in front of my seat. She gave me a worried look before speaking, "The boss has decided to assign you to a new position. Boss said that you were probably the best one to do it." I looked up from my computer and at the women before I gave her a excited smile, "Oh?! What would I need to do? And when would I start?"

She looked at me and her face grew more confused, "Uh.. The boss said we were getting a new monster in two days. It relys on kindness, so the boss said he would see if you were willing to work for a promotion to Researcher." I jumped out of my chair, excitedly, "YES! ILL DO IT!"

That's how the start of my shift started and now im still at my desk reading more and more emails that come in while also filling out paperwork. It is currently 11:45 and I take my lunch break at 12 but Im not even close to finishing my work. I stared at the folder the women left earlier that I had been too scared to open.

I let out a sigh before grabbing the folder and opening it, looking at the monster we are getting. As I read through the description I spotted a picture, it looked like a human except for the obvious blue tail topped with a diamond. As I looked at other pictures taken of the monster I noticed it's entire body was littered with diamonds that almost looked like freckles. As I looked under the picture I noticed it was labeled with the name 'Skeppy' and I thought, I guess they named it?.

I closed the folder and looked at the time, realizing it was time for my break. I turned off my computer and put the folder in my bag before leaving my office. I stopped by the main room and told my manager I was taking my break.

Once I got in my car I let out a loud sigh while covering my eyes, I don't know how I will do this.. What if I mess up? What if the monster attacks me?!. I turned on my radio to try and distract myself from my thoughts as I drove to get lunch. I wasn't sure what I wanted to eat so I just stopped at mcdonalds to get fries.

As I was heading back to work I got a call from my manager and picked it up, "Hello sir?" I could hear some rustling from the other side of the phone before hearing, "I need you to go home and don't come back after your break. You will need to stay home for the next two days." I pulled into a random parking lot before responding, "yes sir. I will head home now." I heard the call end as I started my car again and headed for my house.

When I got to my house I grabbed my folder and bag then walked to the door, unlocking it. I opened my door and walked inside while being greeted by my dog, "aw! Hi Lucy!" I set my stuff down before petting her and walking to the kitchen. I grabbed Lucys food and put some in her bowl and let her eat.

I walked to the bathroom and decided I would shower and make some dinner. I laid out some clothes and grabbed a towel, turning on the water to get in. After about an hour I got out the shower and got dressed. I walked to my kitchen and looked through my fridge, grabbing some ingredients to make something for myself.

After a while I had finished my dinner and got ready for bed. I climbed into my bed and watched as Lucy jumped up to lay with me. I closed my eyes and slowly drifted to sleep.
