It's criminal how your words find their way straight to my heart.
Haena stood there watching Namjoon pace back and forth in deep thought, trying to work something out in his brain. Meanwhile, the women passing by glared at him because he was parading outside the Women's washroom.
He had been on his feet from the moment Haena told him about the secret phone call she received.
"Get in the car Namjoon, or I'll make sure you'll walk your whole way back to Seoul," she warned to which he stared at her as if she was a witch.
He muttered under his breath about how you must cross the ocean to go to Korea, but her glare shut him up right after.
"So who do you think would call me in broad daylight just to enlighten me about Aunt Jaena's murder."
"Think about it, you must recognize the voice from somewhere."
"I told you. They were using a device to conceal their identity."
"Can you repeat the exact words they said?" Namjoon opened the notepad on his phone, waiting for her to begin.
"It was an unknown call, so I asked him, 'Who is this?' and they replied, 'I have something important to tell you, Ms. Yoon. Jeon Jaena was murdered' and then they disconnected the call."
Namjoon hummed, shaking his head deep in thought.
"Now, tell me what you cooked in that pretty head of yours so far?"
Namjoon scoffed. "I prefer to discuss this case with my client only."
Haena gave him a bitter stare but backed out on scaring him into talking it out.
If he had thought of something important, he would've been blabbering about it already.
"But again," Namjoon said with displeasure, "the name system is quite messed up in your family."
She turned to him. Her emotions long sobered after crying them out in the café. "Jungkook was named after my mom, and I was named after his."
"Haena, Jaena," he rhymed, "Jungmi, Jungkook."
"And your point?" she asked.
"Just that it's confusing."
"Look, Namjoon. I want you to solve this case as soon as possible, so could you stop wasting your IQ on stupid things?"
He didn't say anything, just slumped back in his seat.
"We are not working together now, Jungkook and I," Haena said after a stretched silence.
"Then I wouldn't be helping you anymore," Namjoon noted.
"Technically, you were hired by me," Haena suddenly accused.
