I scratch the top of my head and stretch before turning off the alarm. Back to school... I groan and turn the warm water on for a shower. I don't want to go back, but I have to , I've missed enough already.

The warm water mends some of the pain in my ribs. I wrap a towel around my waist and poke my head out of the bathroom to see if my father was around. He's been pratically invisible for the past week and i'm thankful for that. I don't need his crap on top my own. I change into my usual set of clothes and kiss Lacy goodbye before walking to the bus stop.

"Welcome back, Cutiepie," Mrs. Grandma greets. What is with people and calling me cute? I wave and look for a seat.

Mitch is holding a spot for me but I don't go to him immediately. I don't feel like talking to him. I don't feel like talking to anyone today, I just want to clear my head and focus on my work. I see another open spot in the front and choose to sit there. Sorry, Mitch, no today.

I was quickly the first person off the bus and Julian was there waiting for me. I was more annoyed than excited, but then he hugged me tightly into him and I relaxed, hugging him back. Mitch walked past us with his head down, and I felt bad.

"You said we'd talk later; can we talk?" I nod against his chest and we walk to a tree and sit in the shade.

Sit as far away as possible.

He lays against the tree and I lay my head on his chest, ignoring what my mind said. What's the worst that can happen?

"I know i've been really pushy with us," I nod, "Saying I was your boyfriend and all...I didn't really mean it. I just wanted to make Mitch jealous."

     Mission Accomplished.

"I mean...we haven't even been on a real date yet," I nod again, where is he going with this? "Speaking of that...will you..you know, go on a date with me?" I can feel his heart pound against his chest and it makes me feel lousy. I feel like a horrible person for what i'm about to say.

I can tell he's nervous but....Julian I can't. He inhales sharply and I can tell I hurt him. It's not you. You're nice and all. I'm just not ready.

He nods and I get off his chest to grab my stuff. "It's fine,"

I'm sorry. I walk into school feeling like a bad person.

"What's up, Mr. Silent?" Ari comes up to my locker with Alex by her side.

Julian just asked me out on a date.

She giggles but stops when she seees i'm not laughing with her. "Well you don't seem too happy about it. What'd you say?"

     I said no.

     "Good!" Alex blurts out.

"Why is that good? That's not good!" she punches Alex's arm.

"Ow! It is good. Julian is bad for you, I'll promise you that."

I guess so. I'm just going to go to class.

"Okay...bye, Mr. Silent," I hear them whisper arguing as I walk away from them.

Julian's POV

I wipe the building tears from my eyes. Get yourself together. You don't know the kid there's no use crying over him. I see Alex approach from the corner of my eye.

"Hey what's up, big bro--" he shoves me against the locker, "Alex, what the fuck?"

     "Leave Oliver alone,"

I push him back to give me some space. "What are you talking about?"

"Don't ask him out again or you'll ruin things with him and Mitch,"

"Mitch? He doesn't even like Mitch, why would --"

"Look," he moves closer to me, "There is more history between him and Mitch than you know. More history than even Oliver knows about, okay? You just need to stay away from him until Oliver remembers and if he's not with Mitch by then, he's all yours."

     "Wait, what--"

     "Just promise me, you dipshit,"

     "Okay, okay, I promise,"

"Good," he lightly taps my cheek and walks away.

What the hell was he talking about?

Oliver's POV

I walk out of gym class exhausted and ready to go home. Ari quickly catches up with me as if she didn't just run four laps around the field.

"Hey, Mr. Silent, what are you doing tomorrow?"

     Nothing, why?

"Well...I was wondering if you wanted to go to another one of my house parties," My heart races as I think of the previous party.

     Hell no!

She mopes and nudges my shoulder, "Oh, c'mon please?"

I hug her tightly. No, I'd be glad to just come over and watch a movie, but no house parties.

She nods and pouts again. I kiss her cheek and wave bye before getting on the bus back home. I just want to relax for once....
