YASMINE QUICKLY REALIZED THAT days in Forks were all pretty much identical, repetitive. The only difference when she woke up was that it wasn't raining; the clouds were thick and gray, however. Students weren't staring as much as they were on her first day, so that was another positive. Her and Bella sat with Jessica and her friends at lunch again, seeing as it was easier than trying to find somewhere else. Yasmine could see that Bella was getting slightly better, instead of being so stressed constantly.
At the end of another boring day, Bella, once again, hit a student in the head with the volleyball in Gym. Yasmine was ashamed to admit that she laughed so hard she couldn't breathe properly for several minutes. Really, it never got any less funny seeing Bella attempt to play sports.
Forks was not Phoenix. Yasmine knew that before she even got there. Overall, though, Forks was okay. It was easy. It was a lot less to digest. And being with her dad was a huge source of happiness for her.
At the end of the day, in English class, Yasmine was still overshadowed with worry for Jasper Hale, who still looked just as distressed as he looked yesterday. It was troubling, seeing someone so distraught like that and not knowing how to help – or if they could even be helped in the first place.
Alice Cullen and Bella were becoming fast friends, oddly enough. Every time Yasmine saw Bella in the hallways, Alice was happily chattering next to her, practically buzzing with excitement. She looked like she was holding herself back, like she wanted to be even closer to Bella but couldn't, since they'd just met. It was weird... but also strangely sweet. Yasmine wasn't too worried; Alice seemed really harmless. She was under five feet and literally looked like a little fairy. Her demeanor, while a little weird, was kind and didn't have any malice. Yasmine was just happy that Bella was actually bonding with someone.
After Gym was over, Bella practically ran out and at first, Yasmine thought it was because she was embarrassed over the volleyball incident, but Bella never got that embarrassed when she did something like that – considering she did it all the time.
Yasmine questioned her once they were inside the truck, nice and warm, just for Bella to inform her all about Mike Newton's infatuation with her. Yasmine was uncontrollably laughing for the second time within an hour. Of course Bella had a teenage boy obsessed with her – and was completely disgusted by it. She even referred to Mike as an "incessant Golden Retriever" which Yasmine thought was hilarious.
Their first night home confronted them with the fact that their dad did not know how to cool whatsoever besides eggs and bacon. It was a wonder that he had managed to live alone for so many years. Bella and Yasmine decided that they would be alternating dinners every other night. When they got home after school, they found that there was no food in the house to cook with, so Bella made a shopping list and headed to the grocery store.
