Pritam wasn't happy with his daughter's decision when she agreed to marry Ajay. His sister, Preeti's bua had very cunningly manipulated her into agreeing for marriage. Pritam was ofcourse tensed about his daughter's future after the call off for their engagement, but he never intended to marry her this early and that too, Ajay? No!
Ajay was good, there was no problem with his behaviour, his morals and all. He was a decent man with great values. The problem here was Pritam's sister. She was clearly forcing Preeti into this unwanted marriage. Being a women she is very manipulative with her words, and Preeti is naive- too innocent and vulnerable after her broken engagement. That is the sole reason Pritam has left her to make her choices, but he is against this proposal of Ajay, because he is damn sure her sister must be forcing the boy too.
Bua is Pritam's sister named Isha Malhotra.
Now who's Ajay?
After the death of her husband, bua stayed with her jethaani's family. And Ajay was their only son. They were fine for days and then one day, Ajay's parents loose their life in an accident and bua was the only one left whom Ajay could rely on. They became family for eachother, and that's how they- Preeti and Ajay know eachother.

Ajay and Preeti were good friends from the start, but when Ajay decided to start his business, he had to leave their state and shift to other. Being on an important business trip, Ajay and bua couldn't attend Preeti's engagement and when they came back, it was almost on the verge of breaking.
Finding Preeti, broken and vulnerable bua couldn't control her rage and arranged her marriage with Ajay. It's not like she took the decision on her own, she definitely spoke to Ramkishan. And his agreement made her realise how much unimportant Preeti became for them.
She cares for Preeti and wants the best for her and she will definitely show that Prem Mehra what he lost and make sure he regrets hard.
