A piece of rock flew past Margo's face, cutting her cheek and distracting her from the task at hand.
A wave of magic flew in the moment she let her guard down, slamming her against the rock wall beside her.
Margo cursed as the pain flooded her torso from the hit.
"And the Silver Snake has taken a hit from the Stone Killer!" The announcer called, his voice booming around the arena. The crowd roared with noises of frustration and excitement.
Holly was by her side in an instant. Mumbling an apology, and resuming Margo's illusion magic.
Margo watched as another Margo stood up in front of her, shaking off the hit and preparing to fight again.
Margo did her best to catch her breath, knowing that Holly couldn't hold up the illusion AND attack magic for both Margo and herself for more than a minute.
"What the hell, Holly?" Margo huffed.
"I know I'm sorry, I got distracted." Holly said through gritted teeth.
Margo had an idea what the distraction was.
"Don't look for him. Just assume he's not here."
"I know but I-" Holly started, ducking as a large rock flew towards them, putting up a force field just in time.
"This damn fog." Holly said through gritted teeth, "They are doing it on purpose."
"Of course they are," Margo said, using the rock wall to help her to her feet. "They think they can get the upper hand by trying to corrupt my illusions." Margo sent a smirk to Holly. "Idiots."
"You okay, now?" Holly asked, "You can stay down a bit longer if you need, " she offered.
Margo appreciated the thought, but the sweat on Holly's brow told her otherwise.
"I'm good." Margo said, brushing off her crimson and red trousers and shaking off the hit. "We let these guys show off for long enough..."
"Time for a real show."
