Chapter 9 Magic knights

Yuki followed the weird old man until they stood Infront of a big brown door, he smiled at Yuki before opening them wide. Inside was an ordinary looking office, though the furniture looks expensive enough

He seated himself Infront of a desk then motioned Yuki to do the same as him, she seated herself opposite of the old man "So were you a friend or a foe?" He stare at Yuki whole appearance, examining her every action. Yuki stared at him for a brief seconds before answering his question "That was not up for me to decide"

The two of them had a few minutes of staring contest before the man abruptly laugh "I'm just joking, from our fight early I have I know that you're not an enemy" with a smile he offered a tea to Yuki, a tea that came out of nowhere "I'm Julius, Julius novachrono"

"Yuki from Hage village" Julius happily shakes hand with Yuki, then he became serious again "I apologize for my sudden attack towards you just now" he smiled apologetically to Yuki "Your presences was just very similar to someone I know....." When he talk about it, his expression turned sad for a moment

"It's okay, no one was hurt in the process" Yuki shook her head, Julius smiled to her as if the emotion just now never exists "I am glad" Yuki nodded casually

Suddenly Yuki stood up, throwing the chair behind her "The exams!" She exclaim in shock, just realising that her purpose in coming to this town is so that they could take the Magic Knights entrance exams, but she stupidly forgot about that 'Shit' she looks out the big window behind Julius, the sun is already setting

'I'm doom.....' she stood there dejectedly, this is the first time she ever felt so stupid 'Do I need to wait another year...? But anything could happen in those time....ugh! What should I do!?' her thoughts run wildly for each passing time

"Exams?" Julius voice makes her look at him, she stared at the man fiercely 'It was all this guy fault! If only I didn't waste my time following him around, then I wouldn't have missed it' she let out a long breath which calmed her raging fire 'No Yuki calm down, don't blame someone else for your own fault...' she muttered inside her head, chanting calming words so that she won't explode and thus accelerating the seed growth

Julius suddenly made a gesture of figuring something out "So you're actually here to take the exam!? But it has probably reach the choosing stage now...." Yuki gave him an angry stare 'And it's all your fault stupid old man' she thought, Julius smiled "I could help you with that" his words widened Yuki eye "Could you!?" Julius nodded at her question

"I will let you enter one of the magic knights squad without having to take an exam, just take it as a compensation for my early behaviour" Yuki smiled brightly under her mask "Hey thanks old man, that would really help me!" Yuki secretly thought inside her head 'I take back what I said about you....'

Yuki seated herself back to her original place "So, you must have something else to tell me" her hands was crossed as she stare at Julius

He let out another laugh. Putting his elbows on the table Julius give Yuki a serious look, this time even the atmosphere between the two become more intense "I have a request for you....." Yuki stared at his tense expression "Let's heard about it first"

HOURS PASSED BY

"So I just need to go after, this whatever named cult?" Yuki tilted her head to the side "Yes, every expenses during your mission will be sponsored by me and rewards for completion is naturally given" Julius still had his smiley face on, he stood up from his seat and reached for the big window behind him "So are you willing?" He sideways glance at Yuki

Yuki lowered her head, hand on her chin she contemplated whether to accept or not 'This old man Julius must have been no ordinary person, it was obvious enough from his magic aura.....' after a few moments she asked "Why me? You could have chosen other people instead of someone like me, who's not even a magic knight yet"
