"So, where's MK?" Bowie asked, looking around the girls cabin.
Julia rolled her eyes, "Intern meeting, which I think is super dumb at this point, but whatever."
Bowie walked all the way in and closed the door, "Why is it dumb? This is the best idea we've had!"
Julia crossed her arms, "I'm just saying, I don't know why MK has to go to these lame intern meetings for something as stupid as a cordless hair dryer."
Bowie squinted his eyes, "I thought you would be happy she's gone."
Julia scoffed, "Well, obviously I am, she's the worst."
Bowie sighed, "Then can you please bitch about something else? I don't want you to complain about genius."
Bowie went to leave the cabin when Julia mumbled, "She's not a genius..."
Bowie whipped back around and placed a hand on his hip, "Oh come on, like you could've come up with the intern thing."
"I totally would have! MK just took note of it first, whatever."
"Okay, now why are you so mad?"
Julia clenched her fists and narrowed her eyes, "I can't stand you."
Bowie rolled his eyes, "Don't avoid the question, what right do you have to be so mad right now? We're all still a team."
"I'm not-" Julia took a deep breath and walked towards Bowie, "I'm not 'avoiding the question,' I'm just not in a great mood right now and you are not helping."
"Aww, the big bad Julia's not in a great mood?" He laughed, "What's new?"
Julia pointed at Bowie, "Bowie. I'm serious. If I have to look at your annoying, ugly face a second longer I'm gonna-"
"You're gonna, what? Fight me? Remember how that turned out all the other times?"
Julia groaned and started towards the cabin exit when Bowie grabbed her wrist. She quickly yanked it away. "What?! What do you want? I'm so sick of you!"
Bowie sighed, "Julia, I really think we should figure this out. As much as I hate to say it, we can't hate each other for this team to work."
Julia scoffed, "Seriously? You seriously think now is a good time to try to stop hating each other?"
"That's the real reason I came in here in the first place. So I could work something out for you. For Raj."
Julia crossed her arms, "What does Raj have to do with us hating each other?"
Bowie sighed, "If we're gonna keep cheating in challenges like this and disappoint Raj, I at least want to make him proud somehow. And that's by 'making up' with you."
"Well, I don't care about making your little boyfriend proud. And I can't stand you, or the thought of being friends with you. So no, we're not doing that."
"We don't have to be friends, we just-"
Julia stepped towards him and squinted her eyes, "No." She then tried to leave the cabin for the second time when Bowie blurted out,
"I'll help you with your little 'MK' situation."
Julia quickly spun back around on her heels, "What?"
Bowie raised his eyebrows, clearly seeing she's interested, "Oh...you know."
Julia scoffed, "No. I don't know. What are you talking about? What does that even mean?"
"Nothing really...except that you're in love with MK."
Julia's eyes shot open and she felt her face get slightly hot. She looked around the cabin to avoid eye contact, "I- Psh. What are you even talking about- of course I do...don't! She's the worst..."
Bowie laughed, he had her. "Julia, don't even try to deny it. You only make it worse."
She sighed and kept her gaze on the ground, "I'm not in love with MK..."
He nodded, "Mhm...girl, you may be a great liar, but you can't get out of this one."
Julia looked up and narrowed her eyes at Bowie, "Fine, and if I did- which I don't! What would you even do about it? I don't need your help with anything."
"What if I told you, I could get you two alone in the next challenge?"
Julia scoffed, "And what good would that do?"
"Obviously, you tell her how you feel."
Julia stood there a second and then laughed, "Are you...are you serious? You want me to...Bowie I never knew you could be funny!"
"Julia, I'm serious. I think she feels the same about you! I'm trying to help you!"
Julia kept laughing, "Wow, the jokes just keep coming! Thanks for the mood lifter Bowie, always fun to laugh at you!"
"Julia! Wait-"
As Julia finally left the cabin, she was met with a disguised MK, who was holding a paper. Julia's face slightly turned pink. Of course she was here now.
MK looked past Julia into the cabin where she saw Bowie, "Shit, am I late to the team meeting? My bad, had to get these papers and-"
Bowie quickly snuck past Julia still standing in the door frame, and MK, "Nope! I was just leaving, bye!"
On his way out he lightly pushed MK into the cabin all the way, bumping into Julia. MK glared back at him, "Hey! What was that for?" But Bowie was already gone. The door had shut.
MK took off her intern mustache and raised an eyebrow at Julia, "Yo! Julia, you look like you've seen a ghost. What happened?"
Julia snapped back into the moment and shrugged, "It's nothing. Just Bowie coming in to be the worst."
MK chuckled, "And what's new?"
Julia chuckled too, happy to be back in the strange comfort of MK's presence. She couldn't help but smile as she looked at the girl. Never before has she wanted to kiss someone as much as she does now. She couldn't pinpoint a moment when this feeling started. She had multiple ideas as to when. Maybe it was the rush she felt eliminating her, wanting to immediately get in her face. Maybe it was the feeling of her breath when she was an inch away, rubbing in the fact she wouldn't miss her. That was the truth. At least, she thought it was the truth. For some reason, she would always see her again, even though it was just in her wildest dreams.
"...with the map I think we could...Julia? Are you even listening? This is our plan for the next challenge!"
Julia had zoned out for a second time, which was not like her. What was happening? Why was this girl doing this to her? Why do her eyes have to be so deep and endless. But at the same time, have no start, just be a black hole that Julia was slowly being sucked into. It was pulling her forward, deeper into the endlessness of the space.
That was the only justification she had for leaning forward and kissing her.
She quickly pulled away and opened her eyes to a shocked MK, who stood there processing what just happened.
"Omg, MK, I-"
"No. Julia. It's okay," MK said, smirking.
Julia ruffled her eyebrows, "But-"
MK put her finger up to Julia's mouth, "Shush. Don't apologize. I like you too."
Julia felt her face get hot again, borderline sweating. She didn't know what to say, thankfully she didn't have to since MK moved her hand to Julia's cheek and kissed her.
The end!
