[SHORT STORY.]

(Haide's POV)

It was a beautiful friday morning. Why? Because 4th Anniversary na namin ni Lawrence So, I texted him.

"Babe, Happy Anniversary! I love you!"

I waited for his reply pero wala. I didn't mind it baka busy lang sya o 'Baka naman may surprise sya sakin na hinahanda!'😂

Pumasok na ko sa school.
AT HINDI NGA AKO NAGKAMALI. Pagpasok ko palang sa gate may malaking banner na nakabitay doon.

IT WAS OUR PICTURE.

I was pouting and he was kissing me in the cheeks. It was a real beauty to see.

I continued to walk hanggang sa makarating ako sa tapat ng room namin. Sobrang saya ko. I can't wait to see him.

Halos maiyak na ako nung lumapit sakin dahan-dahan yung mga kaibigan ko, sina Suzile, Ruffa at si Angela. They were my bestfriends.

May hawak silang flowers. Tig-isa sila.

And then lumapit si Marl, BESTFRIEND ni Law. He was holding a very big blue teddybear.

Pero ang O.A naman nila. Para silang tinabunan ng langit. Tumutulo ang luha nila ng lumapit sakin Except for Marl na nakayuko lang.

"Ang O.A nyo naman! May paiyak-iyak pa kayong nalalaman! Ha-Ha-Ha!"

Suzile, Ruffa & Angela gave me the flowers with a little smile on their face.

And then Marl walked closer to me, giving me the huge teddybear.

"He should be the one g-giving this." He said.
Napakunot noo ako.

"Huh? Asan si Law?"

Baka naman part pato ng surprise nya? Baka nga! Hahaha. May pasabog pa pala. Sweet nya talaga.

THIS IS BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS.

Napatawa ako sa naisip ko pero I suddenly stop when Marl spoke.

"H-he's.... He's gone."

Tuluyan ng napahagulhol yung mga kaibigan ko. I was stunned. Di ko yta maintindihan?

"W-what?"

"H-he had an accident yesterday night. H-he was busy preparing this surprise. He even c-called me before the accident occured. Sinabi niya lahat sakin ng plano niya. Sobrang saya niya. Sobrang excited siya. T-then after a few minutes nung tinawagan niya ako, I received another call from him."

My tears were falling hard. No, no it can't be. He's ... He's not d-dead right?

Nagjojoke lang naman sila dba? Grabeh, ito ba yung pasabog niya? Hindi nakakatuwa!

"H-his voice were cracking. Parang hirap na hirap na siya. Then his last words hit me...."

"W-what did he s-said?" I manage to speak kahit sobrang bigat na ng pakiramdam ko.

"To do all his plans. To surprise you. To do the effort that he should have done. To tell you how much he loves you. And to tell you to smile even after he's gone. To let you continue your life. And to let you treasure all HIS EFFORTLESS EFFORT through me. And he wanted me to give you this.... "

A letter. A letter from him.

I opened it.

"Dear Babe,

Happy Anniversary! I love you hanggang sa huling hininga ko. Oops mali pala! Kahit mamatay ako, mahal na mahal pa rin kita. I'll stay by yourside forever. Baduy ko tuloy.

I love you Haide Dorothy Rodriguez till the end of my life.

LOVE
Lawrence Ron Velasquez."
