"Okay guys with Halloween next we need to start planning for a suitable event to host. Brainstorm ideas, Aditi compile the ideas and mail it to me. You will also carry on with your regular calls. Puneet and I have a busy day today so if you have any doubts or need help with your calls ask Jai, Aditi, Aisha. These three have experience in offline meetings." Vansh walked away after we replied with a resounding yes.
We got to work, sitting in a huge circle while I typed each idea into the word doc.
So far all we had was a horror movie screening in the auditorium, real life among us and scavenger hunt.
"We definitely need better ideas guys...." Jai spoke.
"Why don't you give some better ideas? Clearly we can't seem to do so." Mahika snapped at him.
"Alright, calm down. How about a food break? Let's all have lunch and we'll get back to this after that. And there's no need for snapping at people... everything can be said in a civil manner." I said pointedly, glaring at Mahika before getting up.
The circle broke apart with murmurs and a few glances cast in my direction.
"You didn't have to stand up for me.... " Jai began hesitantly.
"Of course I did. She didn't have to snap at you like that."
"Calm down tiger." He chuckled.
"Let's get a gini dosa, hmm? It will help your mood." He said with a knowing grin as I followed with a chuckle and shake of my head.~~
"How about we invite an author of some well known horror story novel and have him do a reading with us. It's something that hasn't been done before." I suggested. Everyone nodded as I began typing it into the word doc."Okay then, I'll mail this list and we can get back to the calls." With a sigh everyone went back to marketing and approaching brands in hopes of striking a deal. I looked around, noticing the low morale.
"We need to do something." I told Jai once I had mailed the ideas. He frowned, not understanding.
"Look around! Everyone is clearly tired of this. We've been doing this everyday non stop. I think everyone deserves a break and some fun. We need some bonding time."
"Hmmm." He looked around, before he settled his gaze on me. With that smile that was starting to grow on me, he asked.
"What do you want to do? We can have some fun tomorrow. Let's talk to the heads and see if they would be interested in joining us as well."
"Yes!" I squealed, raising my hand for a high five. He obliged. Resting his arm on my shoulder, he walked me towards our bags.
"Now, ten choki choki says I'll convert at least one contact before you." He said, challenging me once again.
"You're on."
(Choki choki is a chocolate popular among teens.)~~
"That's.... doable. Sometimes I question whether we're the heads or you are." Vansh said with a chuckle as he followed us to where everyone else was seated.
"You can always thank us by making me first CM and her the second CM." Jai replied with a grin.
I punched him lightly. "Don't listen to him. You can do the opposite though.""Everyone stop whatever you're doing and gather around." Puneet announced.
Once everyone had formed a semi circle, Puneet spoke again.
"We're gonna take a break today. We'll play some games, have lunch and then go to the beach."
Everyone hooted, clearly excited for the day now.
"What do you all want to play?"
"Truth or Dare!"
"Message, message!"
"Two truths one lie."
Everyone called out such games, eager to get started.
"We'll try to play as many as we can. Let's start with truth or dare. Does anyone have a bottle?"
~~
"That's the reason I don't like Malad." Puneet finished.
"Kya bhai ladki ki wajah se pura sheher nai pasand?" Rohit teased him.
(What man, you don't like the whole city because of one girl?)
"Abhi nai samjhega tu beta, teri baari ayegi tab pata chalega." Puneet spinned the bottle, continuing the game.
(You won't understand now, you'll only understand when it's your turn.)
The bottle landed on Jai, making everyone 'oooh' simultaneously.
"Um... Dare?" He spoke hesitantly, not sure what to do with everyone's interest in him.
"Oh ho! I know exactly what dare to give. Aditi, Jai go into the locker room for five minutes. You can do whatever you want."
Rohit wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.
"What? Why am I being dragged into this?" I questioned, not sure of how I got incorporated into Jai's dare.
"Why not? A dare is a dare. Now go on, time is ticking." Vansh said with a shit eating grin, as he caught onto Rohit's plan. With a huff I followed Jai into the locker room.
"It's okay, let's just hangout. Let them imagine whatever they want to." Jai said in an effort to placate me.
"Nope. They want a show, we'll give them one."I said, folding my arms and leaning across the door.
He raised an eyebrow, not quite understanding.
With a huff, I whisper shouted, "ohhh Jai!"
He widened his eyes, stumbling before continuing to walk towards me.
"This.... is your plan?" He asked in a whisper. I nodded, gesturing for him to continue. He placed his hands on either side of my face with an audible thump and whisper shouted.
"Aditi...." I grinned back at him as he grinned at me, clearly getting into the plan. Outside we could hear some shuffling and muffled whispers, indicating that they were clearly listening in.
"Ohmygod Jai....." I half moaned, closing my eyelids. He tipped my chin up to face him as he whispered his next words.
"Ohhh, Aditi... that feels..."
Our breaths mingled as we panted, lost in our own world. I gulped, suddenly aware if our close proximity and how if I moved just a centimeter ahead, we would be kissing. He swallowed audibly, glancing at my lips and then at my eyes as if asking for permission. I nodded, not wanting to waste another second.
In a flash his lips were on mine, soft, tentative at first as if checking whether it was okay. With an impatient whine, I gripped the back of his neck, drawing him impossible closer and crushed his lips to mine, nibbling on his lower lip before soothing it with a soft peck.
As if taking the hint, his hand slid to my waist while the other gripped my chin, both of us breathing heavily. I could taste a hint of mint as he gently parted my lips, slipping his tongue inside.
"Ohhh.." I shivered, not able to believe how good this felt.
Out of breath, foreheads against each other's, we breathed in harmony with our eyes closed.
"THUMP THUMP THUMP"
We startled, the banging on the door bringing us back to reality.
