"Dad why do you have to walk with me to school? It's so embarrassing." Maki asked her father. Makoto just gave a smirk as Yukari walked into the living room of their Iwatodai house. "Your father is walking you to school today because he wants to make sure you make it to your first day of second year safely. He also wants to make sure you know the route cause it's a decent walk from the station to Gekkoukan." Yukari was always honest with her daughter. It made things between them very clear while also building a strong trust with each other. Makoto while not keeping secrets wasn't the most bonding father. He was working as a private investigator with the Kirijo group for the past 15 years since he graduated college in Tokyo. He still kept the memories of his past close in his mind while also not letting them haunt him.

"I would say good luck but in truth it's up to me whether you have it or not." Those were the last words Makoto was given before he was returned back to his own reality. His mind was muddled whenever he tried to remember the Mirror of Reality. It was as if his memory of escaping from the realm of fiction had been wiped away from his mind. But he made sure to remember his time meeting with Yu Narukami, another wild card who learned to be humble thanks to Makoto. The pair solved a murder mystery in Tokyo which led to a fight against a very powerful being. The being was nowhere near Makoto's strongest foe however. Nyx, the embodiment of every human's desire for death. Nyx was Makoto's toughest enemy he'd ever fought. In fact Makoto had lost his life to Nyx dozens of times. Though when Makoto used the Great Seal via the Universe persona, he would always give his own life to save everyone he cared about. Until one final timeline.

"DAD!" Makoto was thrown out of his memories when his daughter yelled at him. "Are you going to take me to school or am I just gonna have to walk by myself?" Maki was annoyed but understanding that her father would get lost in thought from time to time. Makoto nodded as the two walked out of their house. Several students were leaving the dorms of Iwatodai as Makoto walked with his daughter to the train station. Makoto began to explain to Maki the importance of her studies at Gekkoukan. "I know dad, you don't gotta remind me. It's my second year here after all. But yeah, last year we didn't take this route because we lived on the island so it wasn't as much a walk. So we'll be getting on the train and walking to school this way every day?" Maki was a very smart student, one of the perks of being the daughter of Gekkoukan's second greatest student. Makoto may have been more talented but he still was out shined by Mitsuru Kirijo.

As the train reached the station Makoto and Maki left the station as they walked to Gekkoukan High. "This route is the safest and lucky for you, the fastest." Makoto and Maki soon were at the gates of Gekkoukan, Makoto turned away from the school as he saw two of his old friends from 18 years ago. "Kotone!" Makoto called out. His alternate reality self Kotone Shiomi, basically the woman version of Makoto who was thrown into his timeline, was walking with her husband Shinjiro Aragaki. Shinjiro was a tough thug looking man but he was far more then that. "It's so good to see you guys again. It's been what? 18 years?"

"Yeah just about. We've not seen each other since Tokyo right? Oh before I lose track of time let me introduce you to our son! Kojiro are you going to introduce yourself?" Kotone turned to the boy who was roughly Kotone's height. "Hey... I'm Kojiro Aragaki. Nice to meet you..." Kojiro wasn't sure what Makoto's daughter's name was as he waited for her name. "Maki, Maki Yuki. Nice to meet you to Kojiro. Hope we get to be in the same class." Maki smiled as she and Kojiro waved. Makoto and Kotone explained to their kids. "Remember head inside and check the main bulletin board for your class... And good luck at your first day of school." Kotone added the first day of school because she transferred Kojiro to Gekkoukan for his second year because of issues the prior year. They had delays on their move back to Iwatodai, their reason for returning was financial while Makoto's was for memories.
