I'm Tired

Characters (I'm wide awake during writing)

This list describes each character's personality, appearance, and other important details in the order of their appearance in this book since chapter 1.

Amanda Davidson (personality); our main character. She used to be really organized and energetic, that all changed when grade nine began. Amanda became stressed and tired after continuously not completing her work due to her perfectionism. She's always ending up in the principal's office, then later in the School Counsellor's office. She loves art, music, and geography. She hates French (1: the subject is boring, the same stuff is taught over and over every year - it gets boring after a while. 2: the teacher, Mr. Lumpie), and history. (appearance) Amanda has an average build and an average height (about 5 foot 4 inches). White skin. Amanda has shoulder-length, straight brown hair. She has brown eyes and freckles. She usually wears her hair down and she is rarely seen in anything other than yoga pants and a tee shirt. She doesn't wear any makeup, and tends to take on a "tom boy" look. (other info) Only child, father no longer lives with her and her mother. She has mild OCD. She tends to stick with her two best friends (Kayla and Elizabeth (Liz)). Goes to Westdale High School. 14-15 years old (14=beginning of book, 15=end). In the same art class as Kayla and Elizabeth.

Ellen Davidson (personality); high spirited, well liked, and organized. She likes to stay on schedule and doesn't like it when Amanda sleeps in or doesn't finish her homework on time. (appearance) Long, curly brown hair, blue eyes. She is about five foot, two inches, and has a slightly larger frame than average. White skin. At work, Ellen can be seen wearing pants and a blouse tucked loosely into her pants; at home, yoga pants and a tee shirt. She always wears makeup (foundation, eyeliner, etc.). (other info) Single mom of Amanda. Hard working. She works as a successful vocal teacher for the School of Opera (a fictional school). 40 years old.

Mr. Lumpie (personality); the dreaded French teacher. Amanda hates him. He is probably the harshest teacher in the school. He hates interruptions, and will send any student to the office for interrupting, falling asleep, or anything that should not happen in the classroom. He can be very emotionally unstable at times, and really shouldn't be a teacher (he's sort of like Mr. Crocker from the Fairly Odd Parents, but not in the same way). If he catches any student (in or out of class) disobeying school rules or even laughing in the hall way, he sends them straight to the principal's office. Sometimes he even randomly picks a student (who wasn't doing anything at all) and sends them to the office. Almost all of his students hate him. Mr. Lumpie also marks work in a strange way - hard to explain - it's like he just gives a random mark, not caring what the student should have received (he's really good at giving work that's been done well and obviously had a lot of effort put into it a lower mark than it deserves). (appearance) tall, skinny face, big belly. Bushy eyebrows, blue eyes, white (pale, very pale) skin. Always has a grumpy look. Wears black suit pants and a "business man" collared shirt with a tie (a different tie  for every day of the week). (other info) French teacher at Westdale High. The name "Lumpie" is 100% made up (it's like lumpy, I just didn't want to spell it that way). He has one, and only one, student that he likes - Andy Knight. He is 57 years old.

Secretary Lady (Mrs. Jones); (personality) seems bored all the time, but really isn't, she rather quite enjoys her job. Loves cats (she has ten). She also loves to read, and she even writes on her spare time. She's quiet and sort of has a "Fluttershy" personality. (appearance) looks like Nina from Third Rock From the Sun; http://3rdrock.wikia.com/wiki/Nina_Campbell (copy and paste link to visit page). (other info) school secretary. Her husband (Mr. David Jones) died three years before the story takes place (the year the story takes place is 2015-2016). She's 52 years old. 

(Dr.) Mr. Stu "Stupid" Phillips (school guidance counsellor); (personality) highly energetic, and spunky. Students have nicknamed him Stupid because, he often can't relate to their problems and they don't want his help, so really they say; "Its so stupid that I have to go see this dumb counsellor!" plus his name is Stu. They also think that it is weird that they have to call him by his first name; most kids don't even know what his last name is. But he does try, and though they don't really know it, he does help most kids who come to see him. (appearance) his mother is from India and his father is from Canada. He has darkish skin, brown hair and eyes and is tall and slim. He has a short (very short) beard. He usually wears the same sort of outfit that the guidance counsellor from Life With Derek would wear. (other info) I am sorry for using the wrong spell ing of "counsellor" before this part. 33 years old.

Miss Wilson; (personality) happy person, smart, friendly, loves her job, loves gardening and travelling. She also enjoys reading. She loves children and is an overall really good person. She often volunteers at shelters for the homeless, soup kitchens, and also animal shelters. (appearance) Tall (5 foot, 7-8 inches), thin, short/curly auburn hair (almost shoulder length). Wears little makeup, and can be seen wearing a mid-length dress or a tee shirt and jeans. (other info) 25 years old, has a boyfriend (27 years old) named Charlie Schmidt. Graduated teachers college 2 years before the story takes place. Speaks English and French fluently. She is a very well liked teacher among students and other teachers.

Kayla Benson; (personality) loves art, English (class), French, and science. She is fun loving, and she often worries about her friends (Amanda and Elizabeth) when they get into trouble or are sick or upset. She loves animals, and she rides horses at her aunt's ranch. She's also a fairly free spirited individual. She cares about all of her friends and also all animals. (appearance) blonde haired, green eyed. She is about the same height as Amanda, but a little shorter, and she is also skinnier than Amanda. She has a small mole above and beside her left eye. She rarely wears makeup, and her hair is usually in a braid. She usually wears a tee shirt and a pair of blue jeans. (other info) 14-15 years old, has two older brothers, and she plans to be either a Biologist, or a Veterinarian. In the same art class as Amanda and Elizabeth.

Elizabeth Parker; (personality) she is shy, but sweet. She is also the quietest of the trio, but she does always seem to have the right thing to say when she needs to. She loves art, history,  and French. She loves to sculpt (with clay) and she also loves to sing. She has a deep love for animals and seems to connect with animals better than she does with other humans. (appearance) shoulder length, wavy red hair, and blue-green eyes. She is about five foot 2 or 3 inches and has a heavier build than both Kayla and Amanda. She doesn't wear any makeup and she can usually be seen wearing a hoodie (with a tee shirt underneath ;D ) and yoga pants. (other info) She had been bullied during grades five to eight, and it eventually brought upon anxiety and depression, and in seventh grade led to her thinking about committing suicide. Fortunately though, she had Amanda and Kayla to help her through these tough times. Elizabeth goes by Liz most of the time. Since coming to high school Liz has regained a lot of her self-esteem, but she is still quiet and doesn't talk much about what she is feeling. She has two cats, named Onyx and Ruby (they are black (part) siamese cats. Onyx is totally black, and Ruby has a small diamond shaped white patch on her chest). Liz loves her cats very much and if something were to happen to them she would most likely spiral back into extreme depression, in other words, she'd just shut down. She is 14-15. She is in the same art class as Amanda and Kayla, she's also in Amanda's French class (applied French). Elizabeth has an older brother, a younger brother and a younger sister; she also has a stepdad.
