(This is written in third person ^__^)

Emily has lived next to Nathan forever.

In Nathan's eyes they're just friends as they've been best friends since they were little but, as For Emily she shoves her feelings down and constantly reminds herself it doesn't matter.

Emily was a huge book nerd, if you want to play stereotypes. Nathan on the other hand was a bit complex a bit more three dimensional to put a label on. He was just kind of Nathan.

"You obviously have a crush on him" Kathryn called out from the other side of the bed.

Kathryn was Emily's friend that she have met in elementary they end up going to different middle schools but same high schools. Emily was happy to have someone other than Nathan to talk to because every time she was around him she found a way to embarrass herself.

"I really don't though" Emily replied.
"Sure"
"I'm telling the truth"
"Oh shut up" you're doing that thing where you bit the side of your finger.
Emily put her hand down she always but the side of her finger when she was lying or nervous because she though biting finger nails were gross.
"Even if I did it doesn't matter" she said while looking down at the bed sheets. "Um like who are you of 'corse it matters" Kathryn insisted. "can we change the subject?" Emily said blushingly.

After Kathryn left Emily laid on her bed thinking, twisting her light brown hair. Every time she though about Nathan she blushed, she felt her cheeks burn. As she drifted off to sleep.

Nathan was up late, tomorrow was the first day of sophomore year, it was about time freshman year sucked. Well not exactly but being a freshman and having everyone look down on you.

The next morning Emily woke up to a rap music blasting outside her window. She sat up letting her eyes focus she looked out to find Nathan.
They have always walked to school together since Emily moved there. "hurry up or you're going to be late Emmie." Emily blushed at the nickname. Running to the closet and then bathroom she sprinted down the stairs and opening the door. "BYE DAD" knowing he wouldn't reply.

Nathan smiled "well, look who decided to come out of her castle" he bowed mocking her. "Shut up" said Emily she was lost in his smile, he had such a goofy smile when he said nothing unless it was serious.
