The Ruler Of It All

[Prolouge] Job Interview

(This occurs in the year 7000)

I slowly adjusted my tie infront of the mirror.

"Awhh, Ze. Your collar is sticking up!" A voice behind me spoke as they fixed my shirt's collar. I slowly turned back to see my mother, smiling at me as walked away.

"I made breakfast, come quick before it goes cold! " I smiled softly before sprinting to the kitchen to see what my mother has cooked.

Upon arriving to the kitchen, a fragrant smell fills my nose as I try to guess what it was.

"Wait.. ARE THOSE PANCAKES?" My eyes lit up as I looked over to the table to see a plate containing 2 pancakes, we only ate pancakes on special occasions, we never quite had the money for it. My mother chuckled as she nodded her head while taking off her apron.

My older sister, Alice walked over and grabbed a plate and 2 forks. She placed them on the table and grabbed a pancake before looking in my direction.

"Whatcha waitin' for? Dig in!" She said enthusiasticly before handing me a bottle of honey.

I sat down on the stool as I poured a fair amount of honey on my pancake.
"Thanks mom." I smiled at her as she smiled back.

~15 minutes later~

I picked up the plate that I had used to eat the pancake and brought it to the sink.

I grabbed the sponge and poured some soap on it before carefully scrubbing the plate. I flipped the plate over and started scrubbing the back, I then washed the soap off the plate as I placed it on the drying rack. Along with washing my plate, I also grabbed my fork and scrubbed it with the sponge. I rinsed the fork until it was shiny and put it on the rack too.

I walked to my room and picked up the comb as I sat infront of my vanity. This vanity is my favorite. I received it when i was 13 and i'm 18 now. I causiously brushed the bristles through my thick hair. The comb had no trouble running through my smooth hair. I grabbed a hair tie and tied my hair into a high ponytail, I put on lip gloss and some eyeliner before doing one final check.

I looked perfect for my interview now.

I must make a good first impression to get the job.

I grabbed a messenger bag and slipped a piece of paper into the bag. Before walking to the front door and grabbing the car keys.

"BYE SISTUH! BYE MOM!" I yelled into the house before locking the door behind me. I slowly entered the car and turned it on.

I looked up to see all the flying cars,
Rapidly speeding through the air.
I was stuck on the ground,
With just a normal electric car.

I sighed and started driving to my workplace. I could already hear the people with flying cars mocking me.

~At the interview.~

I secretly fidgeted with my fingers under the table, keeping a neutral expression as the manager asked me question after question.

I answered most of them truthfully. Except a few, I really don't see myself working here in 10 years, i'm not that dedicated.

I've answered all the questions. Now, all I can hear is the fan moving and the manager tapping his foot on the floor while looking at the clipboard he kept on writing on when I answered the question.

~A round of awkward silence later.~

"You're perfect. You got the job."

I felt so happy I felt like stars were forming in my eyes. I kept the joy within me and smiled widely infront of the manager before thanking him and skipping out of his office, gripping my messenger bag tightly.

I got into my car and started driving back home. I ignored all the people with flying cars mocking me. I didn't care, I got the job! I giggled in the car, this job wasn't the best but this was my first and I feel overjoyed to have accomplished my mission.

I parked the car in my garage as I entered my house.

"I GOT THE JOB! I DID IT!" My mother congratulated me. My sister ran over and practically squeezed me, "ACK! I CAN'T BREAFFF!! (breathe)" "woopsies hehe" my sister laughed as I started laughing with her. She has been providing for the family the whole entire time since my mom is too old to work and I was only working part time at McDonalds.

I hugged my sister tightly. She hugged me back and gently smiled, "Congrats on getting the job. I knew you could do it, you are the best.". Upon hearing my sisters words, my smile got bigger as tears started forming in my eyes when I suddenly felt someone hug me from the back.

"HEY! How could you exclude me?!" My mother jokingly said, patting my head. I let go of my sister and placed my messenger bag on the couch.

"I'm going out for fresh air." I said as I grabbed my phone and walked outside. I caught my mom following me.

"I just wanted to get groceries. Stay safe, i'll be back soon." My mother grabbed my shoulder, shortly after she let go and started walking away.

I looked up in the sky. I mean, I tried to, but the flying cars were constantly covering my sight. They were all flying so close to my head.

It's really concerning how they all fly so low.. They should fly higher, personally I would fly higher.. If I had a flying car, I would. This is such a safely hazard.

I took a walk to the beautiful park. The smell of the flowers were amazing. Gosh, It smelled so good. Flowers didn't use to smell this good according to my mother, I wonder they did.

I turned back to the direction to my home and started walking. I walked back to my house and faced the other direction and stared at the flying cars again.

I looked to the left, then to the right.

To my surprise.

I saw a flying car.

Coming right at me.

Wait.

IT'S COMING RIGHT AT ME!

Sorry for discontinuing the smg34 fanfic. I had no idea what I could do next, I was completely out of ideas.

This is actually my oc lore! I've never written this many words before so it really shocked me how much I wrote.
