Prologue

If I had realised how my life would have ended up, I wonder if I would've done things differently.

My name is Juno Sterling.

I'm 19 years old and I have lived in Raccoon City with my family for the last 10 years.

My parents, Angela and Michael Sterling moved us to Raccoon City since It meant better job opportunities for them both.

See, my mother is a police officer for the Raccoon City Police Department, or the RPD for short. She transferred there since there was a lack of staff and she was more than happy to assist. My mother has always been a kind and caring soul, always taking care of me and my sister.

My father on the other hand.. was a scientist for Umbrella. He mainly specialised in creating different pharmaceutical drugs and medicines in the labs, so he's always been pretty absent from my life. Michael has always been more of a stranger than a father. He was always busy and rarely showed any emotions other than anger and frustration.

He's always been a short-tempered man, which led me to resent him. I never understood how my mother could put up with him and his aggression for so long. It took until I was a teenager to realise that the only reason she stayed, was for me and my little sister, Janet.

After being homeschooled for a lot of my life, I finished school and went straight into work. I've never really been academically gifted, always either underachieving or getting the bare minimum, unlike my father. He wanted me to 'follow in his footsteps' and become a scientist too.

As If.

I don't have any desire to follow my old man and what he does with his career. So imagine his disappointment when I got a job at a gun shop.

'Gun Shop Kendo' to be exact. My mother was friends with the owner of the store, Robert Kendo. Robert was a close friend of my mother since his shop has close ties to the Raccoon Cities Police Department. We sell guns and ammunition to them and sometimes do custom orders, though I mostly just work behind the counter and sometimes test run the stock.

It's a pretty relaxed job, and the pay is pretty average. Average pay for someone as average as me.

Sounds about right.

Too bad that all changed though..

One average girl in a not so average situation.
