This was it. The moment of truth. In your hand was the letter that would shape your career as a hero. Getting into UA highschool was a dream come true. Certainly not the end goal, but a step in the right direction.

Your mother's hand tightly clutched yours.

"You should open it sweetheart." Her thumb stroked the back of your hand, "There's no point keeping us all in suspense."

Your father huffed out a laugh, "Exactly. Tell us! We're desperate here."

"Mom, dad," you laughed, "I think I'm gonna have an aneurysm before I get this open. Would one of you like to do the honors? Please, before I cry."

Your dad rolled his hands before grabbing the letter. This was it. Your fingers were all crossed and the thought to cross your toes too ran across your head. Would that be overkill?

"You're in."

The words took a few moments before they actually had any effect. The room was silent. Everyone was still for a solid minute. Hell, even the clock seemed to stop ticking.

And then it exploded.

You were tackled to the ground by your mother.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so so happy!"

"Mom! Please! Can't breathe! Lungs getting crushed!"

Your mother sprang back immediately. Your father helped you to your feet, shaking your hand vigorously and grinning from ear to ear. You wanted to laugh. Who shook their kid's hands?

"You did it! You really did it!" your father said, his voice thick with emotion.

"You were always destined for greatness," your mother said, her eyes shimmering with tears of joy.

"You're going to be a great hero darling."

You shouldn't have been thinking about it. You shouldn't have been thinking about her. She had been gone for ten years. You had never seen her since the night you had gained a quirk.

But still your mind drifted to her.

"Thanks mom. Thanks dad." You wiped at your eyes feeling a couple of tears well up.

There really was no need to be crying over the acceptance letter. These past few years you had worked hard at honing your quirk. You were becoming more powerful by the day.

But the recognition felt nice. You felt like you weren't a fraud - and that the only place you could go was up.

Hopefully Izuku and Ochaco had received acceptance letters too. That would make everything perfect. But of course, you never thought to get their contact information after the exams.

It didn't matter. You would find out soon enough.

Designing a hero suit was proving to be more difficult than you anticipated. Whatever design you came up with was quickly scrapped. You really, really hated everything. It was if your brain wasn't braining properly - and everything was impractical.

The first suit was too frilly. You wouldn't be able to move - and why you included the frills, you weren't sure.

The second suit was too basic. If anything it just looked like a tracksuit. Nothing that would intimidate villains or grab the attention of civilians. Hell, they would probably just think of you as a nobody.
