I look at my surroundings, knowing I've been training for this for months. "Alright Nova, you ready to finally go into battle?" My close friend said as I look straight ahead with a passionate gaze in my eyes. "Im ready.." I say feeling fully prepared as I lead this team with them. The door opens and not even seconds pass by when bullets fill the air, cadets already have fallen to the ground. I run, shooting at any enemy I can spot. I will win this for my team. We WILL take over this planet. I'm about to shoot the leader until an attack was prepared from behind. Right as I realized, a sharp pain in my chest rises and my body goes cold. My friend immediately runs to me, a worried expression on their face. "You'll be ok, alright? You have to get up! Get up! GET UP! get up."
I shoot awake, my phone alarm ringing as I calm down realizing it was just a dream. Annoyed, I turn off the alarm which was ringing for about 10 minutes. I wasn't really surprised. Aku always told me I was a pretty deep sleeper.

After a while, my lazy ass finally got out of bed. After brushing my teeth and putting on my slippers, I head to the kitchen. Not paying attention while on my phone, I feel myself bump into someone and letting out a small yell before a familiar voice speaks out. "CALM DOWN! ITS JUST ME, AKU!" I look and relax. Why has today just been anxiety filled? "oh. WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT USING MY HOUSE KEY WHILE IM SLEEPING?!" I say a bit irritated. "Sorry! Sorry! I just like dropping by, you know?" "I know. Anyways, I can't stay mad at you forever. Also something smells a bit.. burnt?" I say as the unpleasant smell fills my senses. "AHH! The pancakes! I completely forgot!" After a while, I was served VERY BURNT pancakes. "What is this?" I say, staring down at the stacked black circles in front of me. "My attempt at cooking? Why? Is it not good?" I look up at Aku for a while and then look back down at the pancakes. "no." I just decide to cook for myself. "Hey, it's fine I'll just make myself some food. In the meanwhile, just look around and do what you want."
While I was eating my properly made pancakes from the spare batter that Aku made, I almost choked, seeing Aku open an old box. In the box it contained an ID badge numbered 111810, a uniform, and a very old picture with someone's face scribbled out. "Hey Nova, what's all this cool stuff?" Aku asks. I ran over and quickly came up with an excuse.

"I used to cosplay. I rlly wanted to be part of Starra since it's a pretty high status job." Aku laughs a bit after hearing my excuse. "Wow! You never told me you were a cosplayer. You know I find that stuff interesting." I sigh in relief as they believed my lie. Slowly, I zone out looking at the picture in my hand. My heart drops as I remember the person in the photo.. my friend, enemy, teammate. BUT.. that doesn't matter anymore. The past is past and what matters most is the future. At least that's what I heard.. Starra doesn't matter anymore, I just want to live a normal life without Aku finding out about any of this stupid space cadet shit. They've been happier lately, and that truly makes me happy too. As long as everything goes well, the future will be too.
