Lars and Oscar were confused about the hissing sound of Sofia instead of growling, her two mates however knew the reason. She used to be a small cat, not a big cat, their behavior naturally will be different.
She clearly wasn't feeling comfortable around a stronger beast who was so close to her, her logic was screaming for submission but her instinct also was telling her to hiss to them to back off.
Both big cats notice her body language, acting like she is a cub.

The black jaguar stood up and started approaching her, she became more alert for a sudden attack, but instead, he stole her prey who was right in front of her, and exited.
It was not uncommon for the strongest to steal prey, but Sofia didn't kill the prey, so he took back what belonged to him in the first place. For a normal beast, the female could end up in serious injury, or even death. But in this case, Lars was forcing her to hunt her own prey.
She has no choice, she has to hunt for herself or wait and starve. She cautiously leaves from her hiding and listens to her surroundings, and she gets down from the tree. Both of her mates still watching and recalling the conversation they had last night with Lars.
She was heading toward the boars' territory to hunt for herself, since she watched Lars, she will know what to do. Lars and Oscar were tailing her not far from behind quietly and watching her moves.
Now, she waits.
Finally, almost half an hour later a boar appeared, she approached quietly and steadily, her eyes never leaving her prey's movements, she was close, almost there. She ran and jumped into the boar's skull, the boar died instantly. She drags her prey under the tree and enjoys her food in peace.
Everyone was astonished, she aimed for the skull instead of the spine. Lars demonstrated the kill of the spine to make it easier for her first kill to gain confidence, but her hunger or instinct was stronger.
Lars and Oscar keep hunting for more meat for the city, and left Sofia alone for now.
Late in the afternoon, after they had their dinner, Oscar approached Sofia alone this time. This time, Sofia growled at him confidently and even provocadly, challenging him for a fight.
Oscar had to be cautious, Sofia was a little bigger and stronger than him by nature, however, he was a 4 stripe beast and had much more experience in physical fights then her.
More kills mean more confidence, but just confidence is not enough, especially with ruthless hyenas close by, So time is something that Sofia may not have unless they speed things up.
Oscar had no other choice but to invade her personal space and irritate her, despising it may be too soon for her other senses to control them.
Indeed, it worked, and soon enough Sofia got impatient and was ready for an attack, she soot up growling and roaring to Oscar angrily.
Oscar however was unaffected and kept circles around her.
- I can't keep watching this, it breaks my heart.
- I know, I feel the same. But Sofia needs this.
She needs to tolerate the presence of other beasts without her primary instincts kicking in, right now she is just like a normal jaguar, but she is not, she is a beast woman who has to live among other beasts, even stronger than her.
This is what is going on right now, present tolerance and soon fighting experience.
Soon enough, Sofia jumped to aim for Oscar's skull but he was agile and dodged it and she kept targeting his skull while he was dodging like it was a game, this made her even angrier.
The moment he saw her exhaustion he didn't hesitate at all, he jumped on for her neck to immobilize her for submission.
She kept resisting to free herself but there was no point, soon enough she gave up because of exhaustion.
Oscar let go of her neck and started licking and grooming her, indicate her that he was no threat to her, but she kept growling at him all the time.
The next morning there was no incident of fighting but Sofia wasn't welcoming Oscar either yet.
He just kept following her no matter where she was going feeling his presence more and more, her senses started sharpening up.
The more she killed more the confidence she got, more Oscar, meant more sociable.
It took two weeks for Sofia to get used to Oscar's presence without a growl from her, but with Lars was different, she avoided him, even eye contact.
Naturally, the next step will be playful fighting the same way cubs learn.
Suddenly a screeching sound was heard from the sky, one of the eagle guards notified them that they they spotted a hyena entering the forest.
- Get that thing out of the forest, the rest patrol around the forest for more, and one of you go back to the city and bring more guards. (LARS)
- There is no way a lone hyena to enter, there must be more close by, or on there way to the forest. (OSCAR)
- This is not their territory, they will make the pigs and boars anxious and may attack, they outnumber us. (HARPER)
- Did this happen before? (GREGORY)
- No, never! (OSCAR)
- So, what change now? (HARPER)
- We have a female beast with us. (LARS)
- Like hell, I would let these stupid dogs target Sofia. (GREGORY)
