Later that day...
"Sage, Sage, SAGE!"
"Wha, wha, wha, what is it?!" I stutter as I wake up from my deep sleep.
As my eyes slowly open I see my best friend Melody staring at me.
"You slept through the rest of period 4!" She cries.
"Oh no..." I said sleepily.
"Yeah, oh no!" She replied sarcastically.
"We have got to go!" She finished.
She grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the classroom. I only just had time to grab my bag in the process. We ran through the hallways of West Gate High, with her hand gripped firmly around my wrist pulling me closer to the exit. I started panting real hard and we hadn't even got that far. (Running obviously wasn't one of my strengths.)
"Mel... I. Don't. Think. I. Can. Keep. Going..." I panted.
As I came to a slow halt.
"Come on Sage! My mum will kill me!" She called.
I stopped. My breath was getting very fast.
"SAGE!" She screeched.
"I'm coming! I'm coming!" I called in reply as I started my pace up again.Once we had made it out of the school grounds we started walking.
"I definitely prefer walking to running." I told Mel.
"Yeah well, it's good practise."
"Wait, practise for what?" I questioned anxiously.
"Where have you been living? Under a rock? The cross country teams on Friday. Duh!"
I started breathing faster and faster.
"Cr.. Cro...Cross, Country.. Te...Teams...?!" I spluttered while trying to control my breaths.
"Yes, Cross Country Teams." She replied.
I was starting to grow pale and I didn't feel very well.
"Idiot..." She muttered under her breath.
"Hey! I heard that!" I snapped. She looked down at her shoes and didn't look back up for several moments.
"This is my street." She mumbled. But before I could answer she turned and slipped away. Great now I have got myself into a big fight with my best friend. Good going Sage!I kept walking with my head down staring at the pavement. Suddenly......
"Sage...Come here Sage..."
"Wha.. Wha... Who said that!?" I screeched.
"Sage... Come here Sage..."
I got a massive burst of energy and ran. I ran faster than I ever have. I ran and ran and ran. I didn't look back I didn't stop. I could feel my shoulder muscles tensed, the sharp pains in my stomach and my long, thick golden hair swaying in my face. But I kept running. Running until I finally reached home. My heart was beating so fast and it was getting harder to breath. But the weird thing is, I wasn't sure whether hearing the voice calling my name or being able to run 2 blocks without stopping made me feel faint. I was breathing so heavily that the whole house started spinning round and round and round. Until everything went black.Hope u guys liked the second part of Lost!
