The day started off normal, everyone did as they did every day, with their routines and their daily life styles, It had seemed to be a normal day, but little did the world know that this.. Was the start of the world coming to an end.. The Zombie Apocalypse.
Lavina Samuel, one of many people who went about her day, she woke up early in the mornings for her job, she worked as a Police officer. Her job seemed as if nothing fun really happened. The chief of police never really had her do much, as she was new to the Police department, she was as stubborn as a mule being forced to stay put. She lived alone, she felt no need to find a companion to soothe her loneliness. Times where she felt as if the world wasn't really alive to her, her mind had a way of convincing her of such.
The thoughts in her head wondered about like ants did when they were searching food. But for her, it was all the possibilities of what 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 happen if the world suddenly just changed. If it suddenly stopped being the world of the living, something like in those catastrophic movies of where zombies took over more than 3/4th's of the population. She watched many movies of things like this, sometimes she even wondered if she belonged to such a world. Despite her well defined life, her taking years to get to where she was, even if she was just an ordinary female officer for her city.
𝑁𝑜.
She wasn't ordinary, at least not compared to the rest of the city. Something different even, maybe she was crazy, perhaps in denial of the world being seen as perfect. It all was only a wonder in her scrambled brain, like eggs. Just another thing that lived in a world that didn't make sense.

"Officer Samuel, Lavina." The broad chief spoke, "You will be assigned patrol, nothing crazy. Just make sure no suspicious activity is happening, understood?"
"Yes, sir."
"Good, that'll be all." As he said his final words to the female officer, he snuck back into his office. Perhaps to do paperwork that was long overdue. As she made her way to the cop car, which they had given to her when she started, she took in a long and needed breath. Then exhaled, relaxing her mind and soul. Once she had gotten to the said car, she pulled open the driver side door and plopped down into the leather seat and putting both of her legs underneath the steering wheel, shut the door and put her right foot on the break. Then, turned the engine on, a low growl from the engine responding from the key being turned and made her way out of the P.D parking lot.
Time slowly passed as she sat on the side of the highway, which she had been told was her quota of today. Watching as cars drove passed, before the patter of raindrops slowly fell onto the ground and other surfaces around, as far as the eye could see.
Her attention going from the road to the sky, watching carefully to both, the engines from sports cars and heavy trucks roaring passed her, not speeding though.
𝐼𝑓 𝑜𝑛𝑙𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑 𝑑𝑖𝑑𝑛'𝑡 𝑎𝑐𝑡 𝑠𝑜 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑓𝑒𝑐𝑡, 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑠𝑜, 𝑖𝑓 𝐼 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒.
Her words being lost in her head, all she really wanted was to actually do something, rather than be sitting like a dog, waiting for the right moment.
Time kept going by slowly, even the watch on her wrist was faster.
𝑇𝑖𝑐𝑘. 𝑇𝑖𝑐𝑘.
The watch took seconds by. A deep sigh escaping her mouth. Her hand now tapping the steering wheel as she kept watch on the vehicles passing by. Sadly, she only had the silence to keep her company, not even the rain soothed her nerves nor the boredom she had to endure, not the most fun thing to do as a rookie.
Then all of a sudden, a glimpse of more than one pair of headlights, we're still, her brows furrowed inward. Wondering what was going on, she turned on her sirens on her car and drove to where the stopped lights were, a faint scream being heard, could've been stupid teenagers being chaotic and dramatic, so ignored the scream.
Once she got to the two lanes being backed up by cars, with now people rushing out of their cars, they had been coming from the city directions, more cars lined up. Her eyes wandering around as she parked the police car to the side of the road. Grabbing a umbrealla from under the driver's seat. Then opening it up as she stepped out of of the car. Her flashlight in hand as she walked towards the unexpected pause in road.
She looked into one of the car windows, it was empty, but instead of it being just like any normal car. There were bloody hand prints on the windows, packed bags in the back seat. Her grip on the umbrella and flashlight tightening, tension rising in her chest, anxiety becoming stronger.
A ragged scream and shouting came from further down the line.
