"Kimberley's there Cheryl, let me handle the others" Lily whispered in Cheryl's ear. Cheryl immediately looked up infront of her and saw Kimberley, a bigger smile working its way onto her face. She nodded to Lily and made her way over to Kimberley.
"Looking good Cheryl" said some random man. Cheryl looked at him. "Hi" but all she wanted to do was talk to Kimberley. She didn't stop to look at the man more or to talk to him, she just carried on walking towards Kimberley.
"Look who it is!" smiled Cheryl, earning a laugh from Kimberley as they both wrapped their arms around each other. Cheryl closed her eyes and sighed, it felt so good to have Kimberley's arms around her again. The younger girl buried her head further into Kimberley's neck while they continued to hug. They both pulled back and spoke about whatever came to their minds in that moment before photographers asked them both to smile for them.
"Have you seen your sister yet since you found out?" asked Cheryl while still smiling to the cameras with her arm around Kimberley.
"No, not yet" replied Kimberley through her teeth, flashing a smile. Cheryl turned back to Kimberley, causing her to look back at her. No words needed to be spoken at the moment as they both looked into each others eyes in silence. There was a lot of chatter around them but that didn't bother them. Photographers were still asking for pictures but they didn't listen.
"I have a present for you" said Cheryl, breaking the silence between them. She took Kimberley's hand and lead her to the room around the back.
"You didn't have to" said Kimberley while following Cheryl into the room. They both sat down together on the sofa, Cheryl had a big smile on her face.
"I wanted to babe" she said. Kimberley noticed Cheryl's eyes were brighter than she'd ever seen them. Her happiness was so evident, the older girl wondered what had changed. She wasn't complaining of course, she loved nothing more than to see Cheryl happy.
Kimberley watched the younger girl as she opened her bag and took out a small box. Kimberley immediately recognised the inscription on it. She took a deep breath in and an appreciative smile made its way onto her face. Cheryl opened the box and flashed the ring to Kimberley. It was one of her Promise rings.
"I wanted to give you this" smiled Cheryl as she watched Kimberley's reaction.
"Give me it? Cheryl they're nearly eight hundred pounds" she gasped. Cheryl raised her eyebrows. She took hold of the shocked girls' hand and kissed her little finger where her pinky ring was. Kimberley's face softened.
"Thank you babe" she sighed and leant forwards to kiss Cheryl on the cheek. They wrapped their arms around each other for some time before Kimberley spoke.
"Think they'll be wondering where you've got to?" she asked. Cheryl's smiled dropped and she rolled her eyes. She nodded but had no intention of leaving just yet.
"I heard Justin is here?" said Cheryl in a way hinting to Kimberley she wanted answers.
"Yeah" mumbled Kimberley, not being able to look at Cheryl.
"Why do you still do it?" the Geordie asked, trying not to sound at all jealous about the situation. Kimberley rubbed Cheryl's arm.
"Neither of us want to face to press just yet" she replied, now looking at Cheryl. She watched as Cheryl nodded her head slowly with a frown on her face.
"He still wants you Kimberley" she said while crossing her arms. She turned away to look at the floor.
"Hey" said Kimberley. She reached up and cupped Cheryl's face to make her look at her. Kimberley looked at Cheryl with no words until Cheryl looked back in her eyes.
"I think you're missing something very important here" she said in a relaxed voice to make Cheryl listen without making her more worried.
"Hmm?" replied Cheryl.
"I don't want him" she said. Cheryl's face immediately softened and she closed her eyes.
"I'm sorry" she sighed. Kimberley let go of Cheryl and held her hands again. Kimberley gave the younger girl time to compose herself. She opened her eyes and looked back at her.
"I thought we were over this?" she smiled sadly, stroking the back of Cheryl's hand with her thumb. Cheryl scrunched her face up.
"I know Kimba, I know" she said in an angry way. She released her hand from Kimberley's and put it over her own face. Kimberley quickly took Cheryl into her arms.
"Don't you dare even think about it" she said in a serious way but her tone showed Cheryl she wasn't angry. The younger girl knew Kimberley meant she didn't want her to cry.
"I'm sorry" said Cheryl, pulling out of the embrace and looking at Kimberley. Her eyes were shining but fortunately she was not crying.
"Don't be sorry babe. We need to talk later" she replied. Cheryl nodded back and took a deep breath in.
"Shall we go back in?" she asked. Kimberley stood up and reached out for Cheryl's hand. They both made sure they were looking fine before going back out into the crowd, putting smiles on their faces for the cameras.
