I tiptoed into Ni-Ki's room, a warm blanket of morning sunlight streaming through the curtains. He was still nestled in his bed, looking so peaceful and cute that my heart did a little flutter.
I crept closer and sat down beside him, my gaze fixed on his serene, sleeping face. The rise and fall of his chest was hypnotic, and I couldn't help but smile as I gently called out, "Ni-Ki."
He stirred a little, a soft, sleepy murmur escaping his lips. "Hmm..."
"Wake up," I coaxed, my voice gentle but firm.
"No..." he mumbled, burying his face deeper into the pillow.
"Why?" I asked, puzzled and amused by his stubbornness.
He blinked sleepily, his eyes meeting mine. A playful grin spread across his face, and I couldn't help but laugh softly at his adorableness.
"Get ready, okay?" I said, standing up from the bed.
"I'll be waiting downstairs," I added, turning to leave. But just as I was about to step out, I felt his hand gently grip mine. He pulled me back to sit beside him again.
He propped himself up on his elbows and looked at me with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "What?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.
"You are so cute," he said, his voice warm and full of affection.
I blinked, surprised and a bit confused. "What?"
"You are so cute; I want to kiss you," he confessed with a smile that made my heart race.
"Do you hear what you're saying?" I asked, my cheeks warming as I processed his words.
He nodded, leaning in to press a gentle kiss to my cheek. I was taken aback by the sweet, tender gesture. He planted another kiss there, and then another, trailing soft pecks down my cheek.
"I want to kiss you like this forever," he murmured, his lips brushing over my skin in a way that made my heart skip a beat.
I laughed, a light, bubbly sound that filled the room. "Okay, enough. I have work," I said, playfully pushing him away to stop his affectionate onslaught.
"It's okay," he said with a wink. "I'll kiss you later."
I stood up, trying to gather my composure. "You can't. I'll be busy all day."
He got up as well, pulling me closer with a mischievous grin. "It's alright. You won't be busy at night, right? Plus, we can do something more then," he said, his eyes sparkling with promise.
I playfully swatted him on the arm, a smile tugging at my lips despite the teasing glint in his gaze. "You're incorrigible," I said, shaking my head as I tried to hide my blush.
It was time for mehndi, and my heart fluttered with excitement as I prepared for the ceremony. My room was a whirlwind of color and fabric as I slipped into my lehnga, feeling its intricate embroidery brush against my skin. The delicate scent of jasmine lingered in the air, a perfect prelude to the evening's celebrations.
When I stepped into the gathering area, the atmosphere was electric. The room was alive with vibrant hues and the melodies of traditional music. I settled into a cozy corner where the mehndi artist awaited me. The sweet aroma of henna mixed with the lively chatter around us, creating an ambiance that was both exhilarating and comforting.
As I began to get my mehndi done, the artist's voice cut through the music. "What name do you want to put?" she asked, but the beat of the music was so loud that I barely caught her words. I smiled, figuring I'd decide on the spot. My gaze drifted around, scanning the room, when suddenly, I spotted Ni-Ki making his way toward me.
