we get done with the deb practice and jeremiah is waiting outside for me, leaned against his jeep.

"hi, pretty lady." he says, twirling his keys around his finger. i laugh at him and he makes a face.

"you look like you're in an edit or some shit." i say, poking his chest and opening the back door of his jeep to put my bag in there. i then open the front door and sit inside. "wha- that's outrageous!" he says, laughing while getting in the car also.

"i'm just saying, who leans up against a bright red jeep and twirls their keys..?" i say with a smile.

he shrugs and starts driving to the beach house. "will you be my date to laurels book signing thingy..?" he asks. "we have to bring dates..? well, turn around and drop me off at the country club, i needa find me a man!" i say sarcastically, looking at jeremiah's face falling. "jere, it was a joke. of course i'll be your date to the stupid book signing." he laughs and starts to play one of my favorite songs, kilby girl by the backseat lovers.

we arrive at the place, i'm not really sure what it was called, but we're here. i go to open my door. "no ma'am," i hear jere say, hopping out and coming to open my door. "well thank you," i smile. he grabs my hand and we walk in.

"oh good, you made it, i've been dying without seeing someone i know." she tells us, "that one author i met, cleveland castillo, he's here. jere call your mom." she says, "um, okay." he pulls out his phone and calls her.

about an hour in, we leave and go back home. belly is dressed nice, her hair down and out of her face kinda. jeremiah, steven, and conrad are playing mario-cart and i'm making ideas for my album cover. belly walked into the dining room, spinning around showing me her outfit, "how do i look?" she smiles, i smile back "gorgeous as always," she leaves and walks into the living room with the boys, looking in the small mirror on the wall.

conrad doesn't look at her, but jeremiah gets up. "you look...hot." he says. i drop my phone on the ground and run upstairs, making belly turn and face me. "harleigh?" i hear her say, but i block it out. tears filled up my eyes, i thought i was going to go insane.

why would he say that to her? am i not good enough?

harleigh stop. you're not even together.

knock knock.

"yea- who is it?" my voice cracks, "conrad. can i come in?" i open the door. "talk to me," he closes the door behind him.

"he called her hot, connie, what am i supposed to do with that?" i cry into his chest, and he strokes my hair. he grabs the tissue box and i wipe my tears from my face, mascara staining under my eyes. he gets up from the bed and pulls me with him, "he's always been stupid like that har, you know it. he has no common sense and for him to do that is just dumb, he's an idiot." he pushes a strand of hair behind my ear and grabs my neck pulling me closer.

"conrad we can't..." i push his chest but he doesn't move and i'm not mad about it.

"what the fuck!" jeremiah voice echoes throughout my room as me and conrad pull apart.

"get out of my fucking room, jeremiah!" i yell, him going up to conrad and pushing him out of the room.

he slams the door behind him and walks up to me.

"how could you do this?" jere yells at me. "i know we aren't really together, but it feels like it harleigh. and then you go and kiss the guy that cheated on you?" he yells again.

"i didn't kiss him, jeremiah. hop off my fucking dick." i say quietly, going to walk out of my room. jeremiah grabs my wrist and pulls me back to him, smashing his lips against mine.
