"What is your question, my lord?" he asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
Calchuro, still seated on the floor with an air of vulnerability and determination, looked at Jayin. "Can you call in my personal stylist team? I have a busy day ahead, and I want to look my best."
Disappointed, Jayin plastered a smile on his face. "Of course, my lord. I will summon them right away."
Leaving the room, Jayin's mind raced. He shapeshifted into one of the stylists and returned with the team. The head stylist, Lebanon, led the way. She had dramatic features and wore unique outfit designs that popped but fit together perfectly. She was strict with her assistants but bold, yet less cocky, towards Calchuro, whose temper was unpredictable.
"Alright, everyone, let's get to work," Lebanon commanded. "We have a lot to do and not much time."
The assistants quickly organized their supplies, presenting various outfits and accessories for Calchuro's approval. Out of the 500 hand-designed outerwear robes, Calchuro meticulously examined each one. Finally, he chose the fourth robe—a striking garment with one side blue and the other gray.
As the stylists busied themselves with the finishing touches, Lebanon approached Calchuro. "Do you have any plans with your wife today?" she asked, her tone light but curious.
Calchuro shook his head aggressively, making all the stylists giggle. "No," he replied firmly. "I have too much work to do."
Lebanon offered a gentle smile. "You should go somewhere this evening. It might do you some good to relax."
Calchuro sighed, a hint of frustration in his voice. "I can't. I have to sign some documents."
Lebanon shrugged. "Oh well, I tried."
Once the styling session was complete, the team left Calchuro alone in his room. He put on his reading glasses and grabbed the stack of documents from a coffee table in his sitting area. Moving to his bed, he snapped his fingers, summoning a cup of coffee and a pen to his side. He settled into his work, signing document after document.
Thirty minutes later, a cold breeze swept through the room, causing Calchuro to look up. The window had been left ajar, and as he turned his head, he was blindfolded once more. A smile crept across his face. "You're back," he murmured.
"Of course," Jayin replied softly, his presence comforting yet mysterious.
As their lips were about to connect, Calchuro put a finger over Jayin's lips. "This time, I want to get to know the mysterious figure if I can't see you and if you're going to keep sneaking into my room."
Jayin nodded, saying, "Very well."
Calchuro then went quiet. Jayin grew worried and asked, "What is wrong?"
Calchuro hesitated before asking, "Maybe, just this time, could I be unblindfolded because of my glasses? I promise I would look one way, and you could be behind me, like back to back."
Jayin paused, then with his powers, he temporarily stuck Calchuro to the bed so he wouldn't be able to move or turn. "Alright, but remember, no tricks," Jayin warned.
Calchuro nodded, his anticipation palpable. Jayin decided to lighten the mood.
"If you even think about turning around, I'll make sure you regret it in ways you can't imagine," Jayin said with a teasing smirk.
Calchuro's face turned cherry red. "That was terrible," he muttered, unable to suppress a smile.
Jayin chuckled and sat on the window arch behind Calchuro. "Ask away," he said.
They began asking each other questions. Jayin made sure not to be too specific, careful not to reveal his true identity.
One night, as they lay together in the dim light of the room, Calchuro asked, "Do you have any close friends?"
Jayin smiled, choosing his words carefully. "Yes, I have one close friend—Verina. We've been best friends since birth."
Calchuro felt a surge of jealousy at the mention of Verina. The idea of Jayin having a close bond with someone else stirred something possessive within him. "What is she like?" he asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
Jayin described Verina vaguely. "She's strong, intelligent, and fiercely loyal. We've been through a lot together."
Calchuro's jealousy grew with every word. He felt an irrational sense of possessiveness over Jayin, even though he couldn't fully explain why. "She sounds nice," he said, his voice tight as he wrapped himself more around Jayin.
"Hmm," Jayin replied, feeling Calchuro's body tense against his. He could sense the boiling emotions within Calchuro, a mixture of jealousy and something deeper.
Jayin then asked, "Do you have any friends, Calchuro?"
Calchuro shook his head, bitterness evident in his tone. "No. They're all snakes, only after my money."
Jayin stroked Calchuro's hair gently. "I want you to make five new friends this week," he said softly.
Calchuro groaned, clearly reluctant. "Do I have to?"
"Yes," Jayin insisted. "I think it would be good for you."
Calchuro hesitated but eventually agreed. "Fine, but only because you asked."
Over the next few weeks, the private sessions between Jayin and Calchuro became more intense. They spent hours talking, laughing, and exploring the depths of each other's souls. Their connection grew stronger, and their physical intimacy deepened.
One night, as they lay together in the dim light of the room, Calchuro asked, "Where did you grow up?"
Jayin smiled, choosing his words carefully. "In a place far from here, where the skies are always gray and the people are as cold as the weather."
Calchuro frowned, sensing a hint of sadness in Jayin's voice. "It doesn't sound like a happy place."
"It wasn't," Jayin admitted, his eyes distant. "But it made me who I am today."
One evening, during a routine checkup, Verina confronted Jayin once more. "Why haven't you made a move yet?" she demanded, her frustration evident.
Jayin sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I can't do it. Not yet."
Verina's eyes narrowed. "You need to stay focused. We can't afford to waste any more time."
Jayin looked away, his mind filled with conflicting emotions. "I know, but it's not that simple."
Verina crossed her arms, her expression stern. " You need to swear that you won't catch feelings!"
Jayin pushed his head into his arms, his voice muffled. "What if I've already caught feelings?"
