Being born into a wizardly family isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Honestly, sometimes Tonks wished she hadn't been.

Being surrounded by the magic her whole life made it excruciating to wait until she was of age to perform the magic for herself.

She remembered the day she got her letter.

"Circe!" Her father had called out.

Tonks had come running down the stairs of the house, calling out to her father as she did so.

"Dad!" She cried out, running into him for a hug.

Her dad swept her up, spinning her around in a circle.

Each day, Ted Tonks would return home to his pure-blood wife and two children and sweep them up in a hug until they were too big to swing around any more.

"Ted, dear," Tonks' mother would say, coming around the corner to give him a kiss.

"Ewww," whichever kid was home would groan, mostly Circe.

This summer, it was Circe who would greet him. Dora was often out with her friends, having just finished up her schooling at Hogwarts.

On this day, she was with the Weasley's, specifically Charlie, before he set off on his dragon hunting destiny.

"How was work, dear?" Andromeda asked.

Circe looked up as she watched her parents interact, a large grin on her face.

"It was quite good," Ted said. "But something special seems to have come in the mail for our little girl."

"Oh really?" Andromeda faked. "What could be so special for her?"

"I'm not so sure," Ted said, a grin starting to spread across his face. He slowly held up a letter addressed to Circe.

Circe grinned, reaching up between her parents, jumping for the letter.

"Oh, did you wanna see it?" Ted joked, but his grin was spreading from ear to ear.

Circe nodded, reaching for the letter.

If anybody could see the current interaction in the Tonks house, they would know for certain that Circe Tonks lived with a very loving family. The children of Ted and Andromeda Tonks were cherished, and loved more than anything. Andromeda swore to her husband that it would be so.

Ted finally let the letter hang low enough that Circe could grab it, holding it up close to her face.

It read:

From Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Tonks squealed, holding it up for her mother to see.

"Finally!" She yelled, turning and beginning to bound around the house.

That had been the best day of Tonk's life, because she would quickly understand that the wizarding world wasn't perfect.
